5.9 Comfort Read
Relentless by Dean Koontz - 3 stars
Koontz was one of the first authors that I got into during high school, and despite the fact that I mostly now consider his work just "ok", I still read everything that he writes. Reading is books is comforting to me because it reminds me of when I really started reading just for the love of reading!

20.2 Music Tells the Story: Choose your favorite musical or opera or one set in a time or place that interests you, then select a book or books from these options to reach a minimum of 300 pages...
I selected Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog as the musical to use for this task. (Choosing a favorite musical is almost as bad as choosing a favorite book.) Because the musical deals with caped crusaders and villains, I read at least 300 pages of superhero comics:

15.1 New Horizons
The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom - 5 stars
I picked this book from the Historical Fiction bookshelf. While I have read a few books on the list, I tend to shy away from these types of books as most of the ones I have read in this genre have been dry and boring. This shelf is not completely outside of my comfort zone, but definitely on the edge of it. This book was exceptional and I definitely think that I should "rethink" my attitude toward all historical fiction!
