I'm gonna do a little reshuffling here. I previously claimed 5.7, "Circle of Life," with The Girl Who Played with Fire.
I'd like to move that book to:
10.9, "Under the Covers." This book was on the Flashlight Worthy list "What New Yorkers Read on the Subway."
My new book for 5.7 is:
Glasshouse by Charles Stross, who was born in October.

I read Ironweed, which is set in the Depression (1930s) for Option A and Northanger Abbey (256 pgs) for Option C.
I enjoyed both books. I found Ironweed a bit gritty and coarse, at times.

15.10 - SECOND CHANCES
For those who get frustrated when they find “the perfect book” for a task, but they’ve already found another “perfect book” for that task…………
A. Read a book which fits another task from this challenge. The task must be one with some restrictions on the book chosen – for instance, you couldn’t use a task that only specifies a number of pages to be read. REQUIRED: When you post, please indicate which other task your book fits.
Neon Rain by Burke- nice cover
AND
B. Read a book from the Fall Group Reads nominations that was not selected as the Fall Group Reads in its category. You may choose a book from any of the categories – it doesn’t have to be from the same category as the Group Reads book you chose (but it can be, if you’d like). The three books that were selected as Group Reads are not eligible.

25.01 AND THE STORY CONTINUES…
"A Caribbean Mystery (Miss Marple, #9)" Agatha Christie (The Miss Marple books are approved as a series in the task help thread, even though they are not labeled on Goodreads as such) [I read this large print edition, which has 299 pgs, but editions with typical print size are 224 pgs]
AND
"Dead Man's Ransom(Brother Cadfael Chronicles, #9)" Ellis Peters [224 pgs]
[523 pgs out of the 400 required pgs for this task]

The two books I read were Across the Universe and Between Shades of Gray.
I picked these two books because my friend, Cathy, asked me to read them and when I got rescued from the desert island the first thing she would ask me would be, "Well, with all that free time did you read them yet?" and if I hadn't, well, she would make me wish I was back on the desert island. (They were both great, I'm glad she 'made' me read them!)

You just got in under the wire with this one! She just published a second book of essays - looks like about 2 weeks ago! That's too recent for you to have taken into account, though, so this one works.

20.1 Bookmarks Magazine:
Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton
From the Mar/Apr 2010 issue.
20.4 The Plotline Thickens:
The Homeward Bounders by Diana Wynne Jones
My favorite plotline in movies are when a group of protagonists come to together to help reach a common goal. Like The Goonies, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Serenity. I love this because characterization becomes a greater focus in furthering the plot.

30.3 Shipwrecked!- I read Indulgence in Death (In Death, #31) by J.D. Robb and Kiss of Crimson by Lara Adrian. I chose Indulgence in Death because it's part of my favorite series and I chose Kiss of Crimson for some romance while I'm on my own on an island!

You are all settled in the recliner, remote in hand, for a night of television watching. It’s that much anticipated time of year, when old favorites return and new shows premiere. You scroll through the menu on your big, flat-screen HDTV, then press the remote to tune in to your show; but wait, the t.v. goes static, develops rabbit ears, and your rocker fully reclines and you flip over backwards in time until you reach 1960. .
