I absolutely loved The Dispossessed! Although I had heard great things about Le Guin for years, this was the first of hers I ever read.

a.g.e. montagner (agem) | 667 comments Since the vote is closingin a week or so, would anybody like to (re)read anything in particular?
I'd ask to secure the Imperial Radch trilogy, so it can become my saga for the spring!

I can add a vote for it, anyway.

message 162: by Cheryl L (new)

Cheryl L | 415 comments wow! So many of the books with the top votes are on my list. I'm not going to be in any way disappointed by whatever rereads we get.

a.g.e. montagner (agem) | 667 comments Cheryl, if this is the final list I'll be in for most of it: Butler, Delany, Dick, Le Guin...

I just voted for it.

message 166: by Tesseract (new)

Tesseract | 31 comments I voted for Dune too. Especially with the second movie coming out soon, I’m excited to hopefully read it with everyone :)

message 167: by Cheryl L (new)

Cheryl L | 415 comments This is exciting. 7 of the top 10 are already on my TBR.

OK, let's figure out when we want to read these! Pairings are kinda random this time, I'm expecting rescheduling requests :)

Option A

April
The Steerswoman (336 pgs)
Babel-17 (192 pgs)

May
The Dispossessed (387 pgs)
A Scanner Darkly (219 pgs)

June
Dune (604 pgs)
Parable of the Sower (345 pgs)

message 169: by a.g.e. montagner (new)

a.g.e. montagner (agem) | 667 comments I won't be picky this time.
If anything, I'd ask to have The Dispossessed in April, to tie-in with the other UKLGs from Q1 (besides, it's book of the month for March in another group).

message 170: by SFFBC, Ancillary Mod (new)

SFFBC | 845 comments Mod
I switched Steerswoman with Dispossessed.

Option B

April
The Dispossessed (387 pgs)
Babel-17 (192 pgs)

May
The Steerswoman (336 pgs)
A Scanner Darkly (219 pgs)

June
Dune (604 pgs)
Parable of the Sower (345 pgs)

message 171: by Cheryl L (new)

Cheryl L | 415 comments Either of these works fine for me. I have 4 of these on my bookshelf just waiting to be read. :-)

message 172: by Olga (new)

Olga Yolgina | 589 comments Yay! Dune made it! Thanks!
As there’s the second film coming up, maybe it would be better to have it a bit earlier than June (just suggesting, I’m already happy)?

Option C

April
The Dispossessed (387 pgs)
Dune (604 pgs)

May
The Steerswoman (336 pgs)
A Scanner Darkly (219 pgs)

June
Parable of the Sower (345 pgs)
Babel-17 (192 pgs)

message 174: by Tesseract (new)

Tesseract | 31 comments I agree with Olga, option C looks great

message 175: by Cheryl L (new)

Cheryl L | 415 comments Yay! I am liking April's books. My spouse and I recently watched the first Dune movie again, and I thought to myself, "I need to reread Dune and savor it this time around.

I've lost track of how many times I've read Dune.

message 177: by DivaDiane (new)

DivaDiane SM | 3676 comments I am looking forward to reading the graphic novel of Dune we both for our son. This is the perfect excuse. I also wanted to reread the Dispossessed, but I don’t think I can do both of those in the same month. I also really need to eye-read A Scanner Darkly. I soft-DNFed it when listening to the audio book. I just couldn’t follow and couldn’t care.

Don’t change anything for me, though if most people are happy with option c.

message 178: by Economondos (new)

Economondos | 503 comments Option C looks like a good choice to me.

The graphic novel would be cool, Diane!

a.g.e. montagner (agem) | 667 comments Can I ask the mods to keep for the time being the old rereads (for February in particular) in the Current Events page?
In view of a general discussion of the Hainish novels, it may be useful to have within easy reach the discussion pages for each of the books.
