Having cleared some of the backlog (Le Guin, Jemisin, the lone Delany on the shelf) I like the current results...
I’d very much like His Magesty’s Dragon to get into the selection, as 2008 read are on my list this year :)

I’m very curious about exploring more of Novik after Spinning Silver and Uprooted.
Okay, SFFBooCers! The Top 6 has been decided and it's looking like the Ann Leckie quarter XD
Option 1
July 15th
Ancillary Sword by Ann Leckie (356 pgs)
Infernal Devices by K.W. Jeter (384 pgs)
August 15th
American Gods by Neil Gaiman (480 pgs)
Ancillary Mercy by Ann Leckie (330 pgs)
September 15th
His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik (353 pgs)
The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie (416 pgs)

May I suggest putting The Raven Tower before the Ancillaries to give time to catch up with Ancillary Justice to those who haven’t read it before (like me)?

I want to read most of these (including Ancillary Justice!) so I suppose most options should be fine by me. Again, after having cleared Jemisin and Le Guin in recent rounds, I like the idea of moving on to Leckie. The Imperial Radch is high on my list and... will probably spawn an Imperial Radch VBC?
I wouldn't be able to host a VBC for The Imperial Radch series and hope that my participation isn't necessary for you all to discuss the series. XD
It does make sense to have one though. (How we got all those books on the shelf, but not The Outskirters Secret, The Lost Steerswoman, or After Atlas is a wonder to me)

I like Option 2 best. If I read any of them, it would be the Wells and the Raven Tower (I’ve read the others by Leckie). I don’t want to “have to” read both of them in one month. That’s a recipe for failure.
We're one week out from the offical start of this months rereads! Here are the group threads for the books for those of you that have got an early start.

This is becoming the year in which I tick a lot of SFF boxes: Jemisin, Le Guin, Delany next and Leckie over the summer.
Samuel Delany coming up for me. All these years and I have still not read any.(Bow of reverence)

I just started reading my first Delany book as well! Babel-17
I've read the two June 15th books recently. I just read through the threads for them and I don't think there's anything more I can add to them, so I won't unless someone makes a comment that makes me want to respond (I will be eagerly reading your comments though).
See you all in the threads! Personally, I'll be preparing for the VBC on Le Guin later today and then there's at least one book in my queue before Delany.

I will absolutely be up for an Imperial Radch VBC! I loved Ancillary Justice and am looking forward to the rest of the series.
Current batch of rereads, starting tomorrow!

This is the last round of rereads voting for this year. Would you like us to continue doing this next year? If yes, anything you'd like to change?
And most importantly, does anyone use that list of book links, or should we stop posting it? It's a monster! The links have now been added to the results spreadsheet. Does that look like a good solution going forward, can we stop adding the links here? (Sheet 'A-Z by title' is in alphabetical order.)

I hope we’ll continue next year. RRs give more books to choose from every month. We had some really nice bigger RR projects this year, like 3 of LeGuin’s books. We have Imperial Radch project incoming. It is one of my favorite activities in the book club.
I also hope we continue the re-reads. For me, a lot of them are first-time reads. Being able to read them with others and have more discussion has been great. I’ve also tried some great books that I might not have chosen otherwise, based on what is selected. I personally don’t use the book links in the post, though, so I would be okay with dropping that. Usually, I just open another browser tab and go back and forth to look up the books I’m not sure about while I’m in the Google form. It’s easier to do that than go back and forth between the form and the book group thread.
Oh, It's About That Time! (cue the Miles Davis masterwork).
I think the rereads are a great way to catch up on the SFFBC catalogue. Personally I tend to approach them in batches, especially for sagas (the Broken Earth, the Imperial Radch...), but that's worked well so far with the current system.
and I tend to pick books on my TBR pile which helps to slightly (very, very slightly) reduce said pile if they get chosen. I'm hoping for:Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep
Neuromancer
I, Robot
Haze
Foundation
Homeland
Oryx and Crake
Ready Player One
Fuzzy Nation
Library at Mount Char
Aeronaut's Windlass
Broken Monsters
Lock In
Song of Achilles
Wolf in the Whale
Klara & the Sun
The Terraformers - reading this as a Buddy Read somewhere else soon
I vote for the books I own that I’d like to have some motivation to read sooner rather than later, or that I could imagine actually rereading. A lot of the books on the group’s backlist that I have read were read because of these reread selections.
I'm open to recommendations this time. Ryan suggested Rivers Solomon, so that's one. And I'd like to finally read one of G. Willow Wilson's novels. Maybe time for some classics, like Solaris or The Last Unicorn. One thing I'm not ready for is... another trilogy! I have my hands full with Ann Leckie.
I just realized that Assassin's Apprentice isn't on our bookshelf! I don't know why I'd assumed that it was. I looked for it to pick it since I'm getting due for a reread of it. We all know what happens when we assume 😁
Michelle wrote: "I just realized that Assassin's Apprentice isn't on our bookshelf! I don't know why I'd assumed that it was. I looked for it to pick it since I'm getting due for a reread of it. We all..."nominate it for a challenge in the future - maybe you'll have better luck than I've had with Brust's Vlad Taltos series

Meredith wrote: "Assassin's Apprentice is on the shelf, it just must have been a re-read sometime in the last 2 years, which means it's not on the voting list.I thought it was! Then I haven't lost my marbles altogether. That's probably why it wasn't on this list. Thanks, Meredith.

Michelle wrote: "I kind of like the rereads voting. I'm sorry that it's a pain, though!"It’s not a pain! The list of book links kinda is tho, it takes up three posts now and I can only imagine the horror of scrolling past it on the Android app! But since it seems like no one will miss it, problem solved!
I have to say I rarely check the books on the list. My voting strategy is marking everything I think I want to read again, or is on my TBR for ages and I think I need a little kick to finally read it. If a title doesn’t spark a memory I leave it out.
Yeah I think that’s true for most of us who’ve been here for longer, but new members might find it useful. I don’t know, but as of now the list is going away unless people say otherwise.
I go to the rereads list if I'm not crazy about the current BOTM. I do not need the tedious list of book links. Thank you mods.
I like the rereads. I try to use them to whittle away at my TBR and read some of those books I've been meaning to read for so long. I agree with others, the lists of the book links aren't needed (especially with the links provided on the results spreadsheet).
Thank you! We're glad that y'all are still finding this a fruitful part of the club. But now that we're over 400 books, I think we'll leave the official eligible list to the poll and not to the predations of the GR app :)

Looks like we're heading towards some classic fantasy with Alphabet of Thorn and The Last Unicorn (and they're also short novels, for once). If it's not too much I'd ask to secure a spot for Alif the Unseen. I nominated The Bird King in another group for October and it's haping up to win, so this would be the perfect excuse to read both of her novels at once.
