Who doesn't love a short Children's Picture Book?
This Listopia list is dedicated to Goodread's most popular Children's Picture Books, with the minimum number of ratings for inclusion set at >10.000 ratings. Once reached, there is no minimum star rating. Avoid anything that doesn't have 'Childrens > Picture Books' in its top 10 shelved Genres.
Just for reference, by Children's Picture Book, the idea is a short book that combines visual and verbal narratives in a book format, most often aimed at young children (though perfectly capable of being enjoyed by ex-children), and brimming with full- or majority-of-page illustrations (roughly 50% and up of content). They are typically well under 100 pages of prose or verse and should take two to fifteen minutes to solo-read, with some rare exceptions—looking at you, 'The Invention of Hugo Cabret' (2007). While some sequential art/comics may be pertinent, it generally should be excluded. The same goes for books which are generally not considered picture books, despite having the odd illustrated edition. The nature of the illustrations can and will vary as far as black and white or color, and even more so when it comes to style or technique.
Many of the finest works will be honored by the prestigious Caldecott Medal or Honor. As far as a few prominent examples, you'll find Robert McCloskey's 'Make Way for Ducklings' (1941), Dr. Seuss' 'The Cat In The Hat' (1957), and Maurice Sendak's 'Where the Wild Things Are' (1963).

Oh, and... just a friendly reminder to use your local public library! Most of these books take just a few minutes to read, so it's hard to justify buying them. Instead, check out a couple dozen for free for a month or two and you'll have a new bedtime story each night for weeks! Your tax dollars pay for them, so you might as well use 'em.
