48 Highly Anticipated YA Novels for the Rest of 2020

Magic and myth, getting real and standing up for what’s right, love and longing, growing up and falling in love. Get ready for some of the best young adult novels of the year, all coming right up. From Where Dreams Descend’s dangerous games to a ghost who conjures up some serious complications in Cemetery Boys, YA fantasy’s pull remains strong this fall. Meanwhile, contemporary YA will keep your heart racing with stories of an aspiring singer whose big break goes horribly wrong in Grown and a teen who sees her summer of discovery shaken by her father’s sudden departure in Breathless.
To create our list of buzzy new young adult novels publishing between now and the start of 2021, we focused on what Goodreads members can’t wait to read. How do we measure that anticipation? By taking a look at how many times a book has been added to Want to Read shelves. We also factored in the reaction (and reviews) of early readers.
Which of these upcoming releases are making their way onto your Want to Read shelf? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!

I understand it's all based on algorithms and Want to Read lists but man I wish Iron Heart by Nina Varela was on here.

I just added so many more books due to this!

I'm so excited for These Violent Delights! I'm also super excited for Ruinsong, and (of course) How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories <3

I know! I can't wait for How the King Of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories too! I wish my friend could read the series already so I wouldn't be alone in my agony!

And it's going to have illustrations too!

I know! It's being released just in time for my birthday!

Ooh nice! I hope you get it!

Thanks!

So looking forward to that one, Star Daughter, and Grown particularly!!

I'm so excited for those three, especially Cemetery Boys. It sounds like a perfect autumn read!

Right? It's a perfect October book I feel. and I haven't seen much trans boy rep before in YA fantasy, much less Latinx trans boy rep, so I feel like it's going to be really interesting in that regard! It's really just many things that I'm very on board with all mixed together.

I haven't really seen much trans boy rep (and especially Latinx trans boy rep) in general, I can't wait to read it!
