message 1: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Haven't finished anything yet. But I have several books in progress and one near completion: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

Only 40 pages left. It'll likely be one of the first two or three finished for the year.

message 2: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale OK, guys...comment away. Just finished the first book of the year for my challenge.

message 3: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale For some reason, a book I finished yesterday is NOT SHOWING UP!

message 4: by Neil (new)

Neil Once again an impressive target Amber, so good luck :o)

message 5: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Thanks. I know I'm several books behind, but as fast as I read, I HOPE to be caught up by this time next week (knock on wood).

message 6: by Neil (new)

Neil You have made a good start towards your target Amber, good girl and keep it up :o)

message 7: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Thanks. Did you change your name?

I added three more over the weekend.

message 8: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Temporarily dropped my ambitions to 300 books for the year.

message 9: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Yeah...now I'm only 3 behind!

message 10: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Finished four books since Thursday, Neil. :)

message 11: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale What have you been up to recently, Neil?

message 12: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Guess you've been busy... .

message 13: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Damn! None of my friends have commented since JANUARY! Guess this year's challenge is gonna be comment sparse!

message 14: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Curtis I have wanted to comment but could find where to comment lol. Dont think u can do it on your phone

message 15: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Ouch. I dunno. My internet was disabled when the phone got refurbished before they sent it to me. Government subsidized phone.

Please don't start the "Obama phone" debate crud because it should really be called a "Reagan phone" since Reagan was the President who started the program back when cell phones didn't yet exist and you had what were called "land lines." ;) Not sure if you;re old enough to know wtf I'm talking about.

What do you think of the range of books I've read so far this year? :)

message 16: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Curtis I like some of what your reading. Read a few of recent ones you read and got a lot on my to read list

message 17: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Yeah, well this is just page 1. LOL.

message 18: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Curtis So many books to read but so little time lol

message 19: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Not really. Entertainment-wise, I got NOTHING but time. Can't afford a movie more than four times a year, at most, can't afford cable/satellite... .

So all I can DO is read.

message 20: by Anne (Booklady) (new)

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo Awesome!

message 21: by Neil (new)

Neil Glad to see that you are still doing well for your target Amber, good girl and keep it up :o)

message 22: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Anne: Thanks.

Neil: Thanks. I gave up on a book from the Pick It For Me-April Read thread in the group A GOOD THRILER. What book? ROBOT DREAMS by Asimov. Ticks me off I lost interest in it only four stories into it considering this was a special edition because it was the ONLY Asimov book that was ever ILLUSTRATED while he was still alive. And the illustrator in question? Ralph MacQuarrie... .

message 23: by Neil (new)

Neil 94 out of 303 books already, I really am impressed Amber. Well done and keep it up :o)

message 24: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Thanks.

message 25: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Finally! "On track," no kidding... .

message 26: by Neil (new)

Neil Amber wrote: "Finally! "On track," no kidding... ."

Keep it up hun, you are doing well :o)

message 27: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Yeah. I'm 2 AHEAD now.

message 28: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Updated goal by 15 books.

message 29: by Jayme (new)

Jayme Awesome!

message 30: by Christine (last edited May 11, 2015 11:23AM) (new)

Christine Impressive, Amber!

message 31: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Well I finished 6 books over the weekend... .

message 32: by Christine (new)

Christine Amber wrote: "Well I finished 6 books over the weekend... ."

Now that is impressive in and of itself, Amber!!

message 33: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale I guess it is, Christine. I never thought of it that way before. I guess that's because I have no other means of entertaining myself at home, other than my radio.

And I just finished the seventh book since Friday of last week.

message 34: by Christine (new)

Christine I get great pleasure out of reading, Amber. I think it's a terrific way to be entertained.

message 35: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Me too. Cheaper than paying for cable/satellite or streaming on the internet.

message 36: by Christine (new)

Christine Absolutely, Amber. I have lost most of my interest in a lot of TV (used to be an addict) after I rediscovered books.

message 37: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale I'm STILL interested in TV but I can't watch unless I'm somewhere other than home.

message 38: by Neil (new)

Neil Reading keeps the mind and imagination active, unlike the TV Amber. So with your updated target are you still on track?

message 39: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Yes, I am. Just finished one of the five books I've checked out in the past two days.

Not gonna bother adding one of them, THE ASTRONOMY BIBLE, to the list because I have a REAL copy of it and the only editions listed on GR are fake-a$$ Kindle editions. BOO! HISS!

message 40: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale 4 books AHEAD!

message 41: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale 6 ahead! Time to update...again.

message 42: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Upgraded goal...again.

message 43: by Neil (last edited Jun 06, 2015 11:36AM) (new)

Neil That's nearly a book a day Amber, what a great target for you :o)

message 44: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Yeah. I know. There a few days I finish more than one.

message 45: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale I wish I had finished more than just one book this week... .

message 46: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale I MIGHT be getting my wish soon... .

message 47: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Glitches are ticking me off...again! See the piece for Zechariah Sitchin's THE TWELFTH PLANET and compare to my other books on my Currently Reading list!

message 48: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale 4 books in the past 2 days! YAY! 1 AHEAD OF SCHEDULE! DOUBLE YAY!

message 49: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale Had to edit my goal again. Now my goal is just 2 books shy of challenging myself to reading 365 books!

message 50: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale 1 book behind.
