Since I see people still joining/starting, can I assume this is an "always open with no end in sight" sort of challenge? If it is, I'd like to participate, too! It looks like fun. :-)
I'm going to try for the Need for Speed - up to 18 months level, with my goal finish date as December 31, 2016.

The Harry Potter books are ones that I promised a friend I would reread so that I could read the 7th book for the first time (the 7th book is in "tower #1"). I keep forgetting to read them, though.
10 books you randomly select from your shelves (such as by using random.org -- as you go or pre-choose):
1. The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi

3. In the Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters

I used Random.org to choose 10 books from my pcpl-reserve shelf, which is the shelf I use for books that my library owns and that I've placed on lists within their catalog system. In the event that my #6 (Baaa) is too short, I'll be adding an 11th, #11 from my Random.org results: Blood Song by Anthony Ryan.
9 sequels, series continuations, or spin-offs:
8. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer, The Lunar Chronicles #2
9. Cress by Marissa Meyer, The Lunar Chronicles #3

4 books that you started but never finished:
2. The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins
3. The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
4.
These are books that I first read samples of online, and then placed holds at my library to read the full books. (The only books that I've truly started and never finished are ones that I will never pick up again because of why I didn't finish them.)
3 books that you've already read before:
2. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
3. Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
I don't like the cover because the cover model does not match my internal image of Kate.
I don't like the cover because I don't like movie adaptation book covers.
1 book that intimidates you:
1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling.
I have been putting off reading this book for years (since its release) because I was so upset by something that happened in book six. But now I've promised a friend to finally read the whole series (see the 11th tower above) so I'm going to force myself to continue on and read it.
