Jen (reader44ever) | 2930 comments Thank you for the link to this challenge, MacabreGoblin! :-)

Since I see people still joining/starting, can I assume this is an "always open with no end in sight" sort of challenge? If it is, I'd like to participate, too! It looks like fun. :-)

I'm going to try for the Need for Speed - up to 18 months level, with my goal finish date as December 31, 2016.

◈ The Twelve Towers

12 books that you've acquired most recently (from 05/26/2016):

6. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon.
7.
8.
9.
10.

11 books that you never find time to get around to or that have been on your shelves the longest (pre-choose these):

10.
11.
The Harry Potter books are ones that I promised a friend I would reread so that I could read the 7th book for the first time (the 7th book is in "tower #1"). I keep forgetting to read them, though.

10 books you randomly select from your shelves (such as by using random.org -- as you go or pre-choose):
1. The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi
2. Marked by P.C. Cast
3. In the Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters
4. The Mask by Dean Koontz (writing as Owen West)

8. One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
9. The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe

I used Random.org to choose 10 books from my pcpl-reserve shelf, which is the shelf I use for books that my library owns and that I've placed on lists within their catalog system. In the event that my #6 (Baaa) is too short, I'll be adding an 11th, #11 from my Random.org results: Blood Song by Anthony Ryan.

1. Uprooted by Naomi Novik. Finished 09/13/2015. ★★★½ My review.
2. The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins
3. The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
4.
These are books that I first read samples of online, and then placed holds at my library to read the full books. (The only books that I've truly started and never finished are ones that I will never pick up again because of why I didn't finish them.)

3 books that you've already read before:
1. Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews. Finished 08/28/2015. ★★★★★ My review.
2. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
3. Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

1. Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews, Kate Daniels #2. Finished 08/29/2015. ★★★★★ My review.
I don't like the cover because the cover model does not match my internal image of Kate.
2. The Martian by Andy Weir, read by R.C. Bray. Finished 10/2/2015. ★★★★★ My review.
I don't like the cover because I don't like movie adaptation book covers.

1 book that intimidates you:
1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling.
I have been putting off reading this book for years (since its release) because I was so upset by something that happened in book six. But now I've promised a friend to finally read the whole series (see the 11th tower above) so I'm going to force myself to continue on and read it.

Completed 26/78; 56/78 books selected
