30.5 - Sandy's task: History with Dialogue
For my first book, I read Alice I Have Been, historical fiction as its top genre and 345 pages. That was based on the life of Alice Liddell, the real life Alice for whom Alice in Wonderland was written.

For my second book, I read The Mystery of Lewis Carroll: Discovering the Whimsical, Thoughtful, and Sometimes Lonely Man Who Created "Alice in Wonderland", 336 pages, for a nonfiction look at Lewis Carroll and his life.

Interesting - I got a very different picture of Lewis Carroll from the two books. And now I think I need to re-read Alice in Wonderland - it's been years!

30.10 - Jayme VA's task: Book News Feed
I rolled a 3 (Tournament of books) and a 4 (She Reads).

For my first book, I read Where'd You Go, Bernadette, a Tournament of Books finalist.

For my second book, I read The Lifeboat, on the list of 2012 She Reads book club selections.

Both of the authors, Maria Semple and Charlotte Rogan, were new authors for me.
