I read most of this in one sitting and didn't even realize i'm this far through the book!!! that's nuts!!!! it goes by so fast

I'm making my way through knitting a scarf so I turned this audiobook on at random. The prologue was sketchy so I almost debated turning it off, but I'm glad I didn't! So far, I really like the main character and the setting. It's enjoyable to listen to on audiobook, but I can tell it's only going to be a 3-4 star book that's just a fun story.

i turned on this audiobook as i tried to untangle a whole ball of yarn, and it took me over an hour and a half but I didn't even realize it because this book was so fun. It feels like i'm listening to a long interview with Mindy. So far she has made a few problematic jokes using slurs (tr*nny, g*psy), but this book is 5 years old and I don't know enough about her comedy to know if those are regular words in her vocab

i'm debating not finishing this. i like the unreliable narrator thing but it seems a little dated and i'm not kidding this sorta gives me anxiety bc creepy dude is legit creepy he haS NO EYEBROWS OR SOUL

i keep putting this down to read other things, and when i do read it, i skim read sooo much. i love kell and rhy and alucard and lila but it keeps giving me other POVs and they're now on a pirate ship (UGH) and i just want it to go back to them being dorks pLS

am i the only one freaking out that the god of death thing is literally terrifying??????? this book is giving me anxiety jesus

no offense but thank gawd this series is finally getting good

i'm ready for this book to be over. i want the conflict to go back to black london, not these weird games. i feel like this entire book could have been skipped, or book 1 could be read as a standalone with lacking character development. jeez this book seriously feels so disconnected and useless to this series...

I was so convinced I would devour this book like I did the first book, but this one is dragging more than the first one did. I also really don't like books about pirates and this has a whole subplot about that so i'm just like uuugggghhhhhh

this is like the raven boys meets simon vs the homo sapiens agenda and i'm Living™

this book is messing with my head and giving me weird dreams so i'm putting it on pause and reading something light before returning to it. wow.

i've already cried twice it's fine

i started this in the middle of lord of shadows thinking i could read it in one sitting as a break, but it's something i want to take my time with. the writing is so deep, the message its sending is very penetrating, and the entire book has this really dreamish yet dark feel to it. i'm really digging it.

this book is so beautiful but these war scenes are staring to bore me. which is sad. bc this entire book is about the war. but i was so much more interested in the character development than the actual conflict arising

remember when i said i didn't care about mark? can't relate. he's the only thing driving this book now

i'm just so tired of reading this. it's so huge. there was no build-up to all the stuff happening rn and it's so boring and/or cringey. please just solve the murder and be done with it.

i'm reading this from the perspective of "hahaha i'm forever alone," when I think this is targeted for people who have dated before, but nothing longterm has ever stuck. for that reason, it's boring me a little, because i feel like nothing in this so far has applied to me.

this book is annoying because it expects you to have read all of the previous shadowhunter books, yet at the same time, it gives you info dumps on almost every page about what each thing means. i've begun skimming the parts that go over clave/accords/etc. stuff because i don't care. just get to the storyline. also, the relationship between emma & julian is developing waaay too fast. where's my slow-burning angst? :(

This book is short so I wanted to power through it but the content is so dark and horrific that I'm definitely going to need to take some breaks while reading this. It's a haunting but important story that I'm really enjoying so far!

I picked this up because ayyy it's summer, let's do some light reading! for the past year i've felt very meh about YA contemporary but for some reason i was driven to pick up something lighthearted and this fit the bill! It's a bit cliché so far and the storyline and characters are nothing special, but it is pretty cute and I wasn't expecting this to have a MC with anxiety!! so that's cool.
