this book is so fucking stupid i can’t believe the amount of 5 star ratings. i’m finishing this out of pure spite because i was invited to a book club to discuss it but i can guarantee it’s getting one star and i will not be continuing. which is sad bc apparently this book has zero romance as an incentive to get through the bullshit world building and ass awful writing 🫠

farley, i love you like a sister, but this novella is SO boring (and unnecessary/confusing?) i've been stuck on it for like a week :(

slowly and surely i will complete this book one day. surprisingly it's easy to remember even when i put it down for weeks at a time, and i love the setting and atmospheric writing style

i'm so starved for more content from this series that i just read cal's family tree like it was a novel

this book has taken me like 3 weeks to read because it's one of those where every chapter i have to take deep breaths and walk laps around the room to reset. never in my life have i been so sad for a 700 page book to be almost over. (nor have i ever been so eager to dive into a companion novella bindup, of all things, just so i don't have to admit that the series is over)

oh how i've missed riley redate books (this author's pen name) because the writing style is SO easy to read but so fun. i'm already tabbing this book up.

I found this at literally the BOTTOM of my kindle library and started reading it out of curiosity..... then got 20% of the way through. we'll see if i get bored and DNF or start skim reading but this setting is reminding me of the diviners and i'm really curious what a gay romance in the 40s would look like, so mark me as interested! (even though there are very frequent slurs used in this. ugh.)

i got this far through the book and was so annoyed with it that i announced a DNF in my upcoming vlog, but the more i think about it, the more i think i'll try to push through to the end. i refuse to dnf all of this authr's books because fat rep is so far and few in between lol

chuckled as soon as i saw this book has a low average rating because yup it's kinda cringe. but i'm having fun and this is my third official read of the plus size readathon!

this book is lowkey trope soup but damn every day i cant wait to get back to reading it. im sure i'll finish this then pick up the sequel immediately.

my coworker and i unintentionally created a book club and this was the first book she gave me to try.... i'm happy to read anything with 500,000+ ratings on goodreads to see what the craze is about. and this definitely reads like an early 2000s movie where you know its contents would never fly today but it's fun to watch nonetheless.

ok...... hear me out.................. i started skim reading this book expecting it to be icky but why is the title so misleading????? this is actually decent! space alien omegaverse is a good lil treat for post-christmas smooth-brained me who just wants to lay in bed and ice my knee after falling down the stairs on christmas eve

very much regretting not going to the dallas book signing for this earlier in the year but i have to remind myself that this hardback is $22 (!!!!!) and we still have two thirds of the book to go and it might go downhill. but so far this is laugh out loud funny and i'm loving it!
