just read half of this in one sitting and WOW im kicking myself for not having my own non-library copy to annotate. gorgeous yet succinct writing.

i’ve been reading this book for half a year but it’s just been sitting in my nightstand drawer, oops.

i could finish this book in one sitting if i wasnt trying to keep my sleep schedule on track. perfect fast, funny, lighthearted romp of a book.

leigh bardugo using the word erection....... i have to applaud

so far this is sailing at a four stars. the plot is cool but the writing style leans toward saying a lot without actually saying a lot, if that makes sense. we’re almost 200 pages in and dont have a full grasp of the different magical cults, but i do like that alex’s backstory is beginning to be sprinkled in.

if we disemboweled a live person in chapter one then i need to strap in

ok i lied this book sucks lol

this book's concept caught my eye--an owner of a jewelry shop accidentally posts a fake engagement post to Instagram, goes viral, and employs a fake relationship to help her sales-- but the writing is so plain and the plot is executed so unrealistically that i can't see it getting more than 3 stars. it's quick to read though so i think this will be something light and fun to consume in a few sittings.

the cover of this book is so boring that i for sure would not have picked it up had the publisher not sent it to me, but it's pretty good so far! a bit weighed down by workplace and government jargon but i'm ready for a delicious enemies to lovers feast

this book is objectively fine and a nice 3 star book..... but it’s about the film industry and im 😴

I have been reading this book for MONTHS but am still nowhere near finishing, despite my love for Michelle and the great writing. I just always get distracted while listening to the audiobook, and this never keeps my attention for more than a chapter if I read it physically. It gets better the closer we get to Obama's presidency though, so hopefully it'll pick up speed soon.

this entire book is told in text messages and already, it's a bit clunky and the teens' dialogue is kinda cringy. It's quick and fun though so hopefully it just continues to be lighthearted and entertaining

i know i'm updating only 5 pages past where i was last time but i need you to know that every time i pick up this book i get actually giddy that i can continue reading

i'm already mad that this book has no sequel i literally started crying last night because it's so good

“just a few more pages” i said to myself, then stayed up until 5:30 AM reading it

when i'm not reading this i gripe and groan about how much i don't want to read it, but as soon as i pick it up, i always read at least 10% of it in one sitting. i'm still sitting at a meh overall but the theories are picking up

buddy reading this with bonnie and so far i can tell it’s gonna be mediocre/clunky writing with typical characters, but hopefully it’s at least fun. if anything, i’m here for the smut hehe

definitely have to go sparknotes the last few chapters to make sure i’m following but this book is so cozy and i love jane’s honesty. even though it’s taken me half a year to read, it’s quite worth the investment so far
