Back from a lovely vacation, with lots of time to read!

10.7 My Favorite Things
(Genre: Fantasy)
The Gathering Storm by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson
Big Book ticket: 784 pages
I'm not sure if I get to claim this one as a GR author or not - Brandon Sanderson wrote it, and is a GR author, but he was picking up Robert Jordan's series after his death, using RJ's notes and outlines. RJ's the first-billed author...? I'm fine with whatever call the powers-that-be want to make on this one.

30.7 Forever Young
1. Revolution (stand-alone/historical fiction, or it could also be considered coming-of-age)
2. Matched (first in a series, scifi/fantasy)

Jackie | 125 comments 10.5 Chinese Dragon Dance

City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. Clary, the main character, and her friends interact with vampires, fairies and werewolves, all the great supernatural characters.

15.7 The Book is Always Better Than the Movie

I have to agree, so I read a book from that list. Number 107 was

Marley & Me: Love and Life with the World's Worst Dog by John Grogan. Unfortunately, I've never watched the movie so I can give my opinion on which is better.

15.8 Festivus for the Rest of Us

My biggest pet peeve is using the wrong punctuation or form of the word (to, two or too) in writing (please don't mentally edit my posts now :/ ). I read Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation by Lynne Truss. Interestingly, when I searched this book on this website I was corrected for putting in Eats, Shoots and Leaves, and was given Eats Shoots and Leaves (no comma), which is what the whole joke is about. I hope someone else finds that funny besides me.

Anyways, totals are:
