My favorite movie scenario is the cheesy monster movie because I share them with my son. Since his 1st grade Godzilla phase (and resulting birthday party) we have loved the nonexistent plots and the horrible special effects. We have great fun predicting the casualties. This book was so bad it was fun- just like the movies.

I had never heard of Josephine Tey or The Daughter of Time- I'm so glad this task led me to it.
I completed Task 10.6 (In the Pink) by reading Island of the Sequined Love Nun by Christopher Moore. This is an excellent story, darker than other Christopher Moore books that I've read.

10.4 Leaving Civilization BehindThe Waste Lands by Stephen King
The majority of this book takes place as the characters travel through the forest/plains. The end does take place in a long-abandoned city, but the majority is in "natural" settings and even at the end the abandoned city still functions as a wilderness of sorts (just not a natural one!)

For Oct. 15 2000 I read The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver which I gave 5*! It's excellent. I highly recommend it for anyone who hasn't read it yet.

I read Hack: How I Stopped Worrying About What to Do with My Life and Started Driving a Yellow Cab
Interesting memoir by a young woman who drove a cab for a year or so. It was interesting reading from a cab driver's perspective. If anyone is looking for a work memoir for 10.8, this would work for that task as well.

For this task I read Dracula by Bram Stoker, it was on the "Vampire Novels To Sink Your Teeth Into" list. I think it was very "Flashlight Worthy".

For this task I typed in the author Katie MacAlister, which led me to Marta Acosta. I read Happy Hour at Casa Dracula. I loved this website, it listed quite a few good authors for me to pick from.

What a great task! I picked option B, so I read The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen (Goodreads author).
25.3 - Sandy’s Task As Suggested by Katy: Daylight Savings
For this task I chose options B & C. For option B I read The Last Viking by Sandra Hill which is a time travel romance. For option C I read Murder Uncorked by Michele Scott (Goodreads author) which was only 224 pages.

Love this literature map thing! I used Jane Austen as my map author.
Although this had a similar type of wit, it wasn't always as clever as I hoped it would be. It definitely had its moments though, and I can see why the two authors would be linked. I'll possibly read more in the series.

10.1 Shorter days I read Wastelands: Stories of the Apocalypse, a collection of post-apocalyptic short stories that I tried reading a few years back. Although I typically like this genre of story as a novel, I wasn't as wild about the short stories. Maybe I just like to explore the subject in a more in depth manner than is possible in the short story form....
