Marji Morris | 8 comments Two questions: what is An "own voices" book? and what is A LitRPG book? Thanks in advance. Oops, here's a third question, where can I find previous year's prompts to choose one of those? (I'm a newbie. Sorry if the questions seem silly, but I really don't know)

message 870: by KF-in-Georgia (new)

KF-in-Georgia | 117 comments My understanding of a LitRPG book (literary role-playing game) is pretty shaky. The best thing I discovered was to look through books suggested for each prompt ( https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... ) and see what people suggested. People suggested Ready Player One, which I have, so that's what I'll read. (It was part of last year's Great American Reads event.)

An "own voices" book is basically a book about a minority written by a member of that minority. I'll be reading Bless Me, Ultima, a book about a Chicano family written by a Chicano author (and another Great American Reads book).

This thread ( https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... ) has sample spreadsheets you can download. Find one you like and use it to keep track of the prompts and your choices. And past challenges are here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Have fun!
