Thank you! I'm getting so excited already, I'm not sure where I'm going to start!

Some books that you have up for 2019 that I've loved: The Thirteenth Tale, I Capture the Castle, and Grendel were all fantastic. I hope you like them as much!

My older brother is a huge fan of Grendel, so he's excited that I'll be reading it next year.

And A Gentleman in Moscow is a really excellent book, one of my favorites of this year.

Oh good!! All of a sudden I'm finding myself drawn to non-fiction, so I've been including more and more on each list. Maybe something that comes with age?
And I've seen so many great reviews for Gentleman in Moscow, kind of has my hopes up.

The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women and Hidden Figures: The Untold True Story of Four African-American Women Who Helped Launch Our Nation into Space - I did as audio. They were really interesting. Non-fiction is hard for me to read though and that's why I usually do as audio.
I love your page and the eye candy!

Thanks. I read Everything Everything this year and LOVED it, and I have The Sun is Also a Star on my kindle. Been meaning to get to Salt to the Sea for awhile.
Non fiction takes me a while to get through sometimes, depending on how its written, so I'm a little worried about some of them, but I've been learning so much this year. I need to try doing audio while doing some sort of activity....coloring maybe? So I can focus. Otherwise it pretty much goes in one ear and out the other.
So. Much. Eye. Candy.
It gets me excited for the new year :-)

I plan on mood reading, so whatever catches my eye on my virtual shelf is what I plan on picking up. I have no hope of ever finishing it all... well maybe the ATY and Rejects but definitely not ALL of them. Do tell what you hated.....I need to know what I'm in for. I also love seeing how everyones opinions vary.

You also have the Red Rising trilogy on your list!! That is one of my all-time favourite series and I think each book was better than the last one! I hope you enjoy them - I'll be interested to hear what you have to say about them.

Peter, I read Red Rising as soon as it came out and devoured it. I could not put it down, I loved it so much. I pre-ordered all of the sequels plus Iron Gold so everything is on my kindle. I just got sidetracked because I started doing challenges and couldn't figure out how to plan them in but its been driving me crazy every year because I just want to go back to that world!!!! I Have all of them plus Iron Gold on my lists and I plan on starting off my year with them :-)
And I stole Marrow Thieves off your plan. Its one I had seen Zaz mention and then forgot about so I fit into the awards category. Excited for all of them. Lincoln in the Bardo I'll be listening to on audio. I had started it last year but didn't get far in at all. It was so much fun with the full cast narrating :-)

Because we have good taste in books :-)

And with the exception of Home Fire and In Cold Blood those are a few on my plan that I'm worrying the most about lol. I tried Lincoln in the Bardo last year but couldn't get through it, I'll try one more time. But I added in Lady of the River ( my mom loves these books) as a backup.
Thanks for your thoughts :-)

I've heard that about Hidden Figures, but I figured I'd give it a try. I have NO problem this year DNFing anything that takes me more than a week to read lol ( Im looking at you Blood Meridan). Not planning on wasting an entire month again next year to read something I hate.

Good philosophy Reading is fun! And time is limited so sense wasting good time on not-so-good-for-me BOOKS!

Good luck with the rest of your 2018 reading!

Thanks Brooke!! I've been wasting most of my day looking at everyones plans lol. Makes it hard not to keep adding books.

Since I try not to purchase books, I checked my libraries (I work at a university library) and according to the world catalogue, only the St Louis Library (approx. 1300 km from me) has it! So... I probably won't be reading it next year.
Where did you find that gem or does the master list have a link for this prompt that I haven't seen yet?
And best of luck!!

LOL MJ!!!! I don't know, there was a strange side track conversation over in the Pop Sugar group and I remembered finding this book on a listopia and mentioned it. I think it was probably while I was looking for strange or weird titles. Anyways, my dad and my aunt were here visiting at the time and I had to look it up to see what it was about and then the reviews were making us laugh. In the Pop Sugar discussion I said it would fit perfect here. I found it on kindle for $4 😂

Of the ones on your list I have read, I loved you're never weird on the internet (as a professed former supernatural fan haha), code name verity, and the giver, ESPECIALLY the giver. Read that cover to cover in 6th grade in one night. best assigned reading i ever had

Of course, my first few available books would all be non fiction, LOL.
Curious to see if I can plow through Hidden Figures?

LOL I hated that book and I'm not the least bit embarrassed about it!! :-) It's one of my reviews that gets a lot of comments, all from people saying, more or less, "you are not alone!"

SAME!! Suddenly I have a BIG stack of library books waiting for me and YIKES!!! Deep breaths. Worst case scenario: I return some of the books and just check them out again later.
I don't read a ton of non-fiction, but I read some, and I enjoyed Hidden Figures. It wasn't a fast read, and it wasn't as good as, say, Henrietta Lacks (which was AMAZING), but I didn't feel like quitting it either. However, I'm an engineer, so reading about engineering history is not a complete snoozefest for me ;-) YMMV
