POPSUGAR 2016 READING CHALLENGE
Duration: January 1 - December 31, 2016

This year, Popsugar has come out with a new Ultimate Reading Challenge for 2016. We know that a lot of our members had fun with last year's challenge, so we decided to make it an official group challenge this year.

The goal is to check off all of the tasks in a year, but if that's too much, feel free to set a smaller goal.

NOTE: Several of these tasks are fairly United States-specific. Feel free to adjust them as you see fit for your country or language.

Though I haven't finished even half of this year's pop-sugar challenge, I think I'll give this a go. I will set myself a more realistic goal of 20/40 in this challenge, hope that's not going to put a damper on the spirit of the game.

I wasn't sure whether to ask this question this or not, but I think I will now - we don't have states where I live (although in a way, we do, we just don't call them that). Any sort of reasonable equivalent like town/county/province would work to substitute in for number 5, right?

Oh I saw this one last year... Is taugh... Specially if your limit is only 52 books per year... So I will attempt to go for at least 12. If I manage more I will post upgrade my challenge.Just a small question... National book award implies that is a US book award? Can I play with the fact that the book can be a National Book award of some country? Let's say Spain, Colombia, UK, etc... It will also be valid?
Also point 6. I was wondering, since some of us are not from US or from countries that English is the mother tongue can we make a twist here and say a book translate it to our mother tongue? I can also read books translated to english of course, but just wondering....

I am in for 41 (26 has two books). Very close to finishing the 2015 challenge, but I think I may fall just a couple of books short. So glad this group is here to support the new challenge as this will be much more fun with others making progress and sharing their reads. Looking around for ideas of what I may like to read next year...may list multiple books in each category and sort it out later, based on what I can actually get my hands on. My kids can't wait when it is time to do the bookstore challenge and the book I lay my eyes on.

I left three categories open that don't require me to plan ahead as some of.the books on this list already would qualify for those also. Making this list almost makes me want to start putting holds at he library or browsing which of the classics I have already in my personal library. But now that the liaison made, I rally should get back to my 2015 reading challenge and READ instead of planning.

I'm in.

Since I'm sure there are some books in it, I'd never read, not even for a challenge, I'll try for 30.

I won't plan ahead, I never end up reading what I wanted to read :)

Oh and one question: the language I read in doesn't matter, does it? Since I'm from Austria a lot will be in German. For example I'd also probably change number 6 (to a book translated to German)
