PICTURES!!!!
Also:
While looking for this to post, I discovered the existence of a subfandom called Dresden kink. I am accidentally less innocent than I was 10 minutes ago, and I'm pretty uncomfortable with it.

Faster, faster, faster :D I'm so excited for Skin Game to come out, I'm like a kid at Christmas. I'm going to blow through the first 14 and then be antsy for months until it's published.
Steven you better post pics! I'm so jealous that you'll get to "meet" Sue!
Steven wrote: "Ummm... I'm not sure I want to know. What did you search for to get Dresden kink? X) creepy."I googled dresden meme and that was the first 5 topics to pop up in my results. yiiiikkkeeesss
Love the picture Ashley!Awwwwww, I'm sorry for that Ash, here, have some brain bleach.
And I must confess I took note of subfandom Dresden kink to google it after work. Yep, I don't have any shame on admitting it.
I also giggled at the "accidentally less innocent" - sorry about that.

*grabs tablet*
yep... still no shame...
Oh dear... yep, top 5 results. My experiences with fanfic were twilight or true blood related, and so innocent compared to that.

Skin Game is out in May. Two words: Read Slower.
Or choose another series to read while waiting. Have you tried Peter Grant? I've heard he's a British Harry Dresden

I'm such a prude as a general rule (I barely even read romance bc it's too steamy!), I definitely got a rude awakening!

But, but, but!

It's really good, Violet! You should join us! Zombie T-Rexs and everything!
Yes Violet, you should! Some of us are just starting, some, like Ashley, are re-reading while waiting for the next one. Just join the fun!
And you don't have to be afraid since we keep our book spoilers under tags :o)
Zombies how does that fit here lol you guys might have to teach me the ropes lol :D so can you guys give me more or less what it is about cause I really don't read anything with vampires in it.
But if they are keeping vampires I would so read all the way :)
No vampires? Uhmmmm..... Dresden has 3 types of vampires... But some of the books don'tFor example book #2 is about werewolves and book #4 have Fae.
But, is a dark noir type of urban fantasy.
You can always try the iron druid chronicles - Atticus the druid & Oberon the hound <3 --> link hereOr the daughter of smoke and bone series. We are still in book #1, so plenty of time to catch up --> link here
Ash,So of course I looked it up, why wouldn't I?, and I discovered that apparently, lots of people ship Dresden with Marcone or Thomas. (view spoiler)...
I even saw one with Dresden/Toot-toot. Are you serious, people!?!

I find everything but maayyybbee Marcone super creepy. I'm with you on the spoiler - ICK!

Ei Ash, I convinced Steven to start
today. As soon as I'm home and finish some mod duties, I'll snuggle on my bed with lots of pillows, my Simba and Chicago's most infamous wizard :o)
Jennifer wrote: "I've read the first three. Just finished book three. Shocked by the ending."I had to read the final chapter two times till brain finally start accepting that ending.
But I suffer from "the terrible ending of book #3 syndrome", although most of the times I tend to forget that... till I reach the end of book #3 in a series.
Just finished book 4 and really enjoyed it. The fae world was so complicated I didn't know what was going on half the time, but it was still fun to read. The series is definitely growing on me.
Steven wrote: "Hahaha, Sonia... I'm sure it took lots of convincing, eh? :P"It did.
But, Jim Butcher can't compete with Richelle Mead. No sir. No way. I almost gave up on both her series I was reading. Not sure which one was worse. I cried for hours and a lot of persuasion was needed to continue to book four.
~Leslie~ wrote: "Just finished book 4 and really enjoyed it. The fae world was so complicated I didn't know what was going on half the time, but it was still fun to read. The series is definitely growing on me."It was book #4 that won me over. And it keeps improving :)
Sonia, I seriously don't understand how you have time to mod and read as prodigiously as you do! I would love to help out more around this group, but I would have to sacrifice so much reading time to do so!
Well, having no life helps *giggles*And shamessly being on goodreads while at work too (don't let my team leaders read that)
Plus, I only read around one-two books per week. But, since I ask myself the same question about some of our busy-mighty-awesome mods on duty, I'll leave it at that :-)
Ok just started Death Masks (#5) as I needed a bit of a break after book 4. So a few months on and I now have enough energy to go through life with Harry again. I love his character and the humour but I find the near-death experiences exhausting ;)
Ha, Karen, it's funny cause I just read this after your comment about not quite being finished with Lireal before American Gods in the other thread. ;)
Yes, well I always read 2-3 books at a time, just on different formats (audio/kindle/dead tree). This is my kindle book atm :)
I have always disliked the phrase "dead tree"... I like to think the tree is living on forever while allowing characters and worlds to come to life with them!
