Off course that was before I remember that between now and May will occur several major releases, like:
&
And I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

I don't know if I'm even signing onto GRs. LOL! I have the whole day blocked off on my calendar.

Buuuuut I have kindle app on my work computer. I already pre-ordered it, and I'm sooo going to sneak it in :D
Happy V-Day, Violet!I'm also super excited for Mercy! I didn't get the hype with the first few novels, but I've really enjoyed the last few installments in the series. I can't wait to see what new trouble she gets into :)
*grins* This thread is so poorly named. Sure, we talk about Dresden here, but how many other series reads have we started from here?I consider this thread my favourite paranormal fiction thread ;)
Yes it is a good point. So to keep the thread name oriented I have a challenge:*grins*

Steven and I are totally doing it. So who's with us?
Sonia wrote: "Steven and I are totally doing it. So who's with us? "Me probably. I've been reading quietly on the side and caught up with you two. ☺
I'll probably start Proven Guilty at the end of the month. And then go on from there.
I don't know about reading a chapter a day. I have "buddy reads" scheduled for the rest of the books. **gasp** (In another group!)

Quiet and sneaky like a true hobbit! Bilbo would be so proud *grins*

Sonia wrote: "As long as you're up to date or close to that on the release date, it counts :)"Oh, I'll definitely be up-to-date. So, I'm in! Yay!
Just read 9% of Proven Guilty! Will read more later today, but nee to try to finally finish Storm of Swords! It's taking me forever and season three is finally released for us to watch Monday and I want to have as much of book three read as I can since they're not exactly verbatim on the show. No book spoilers for me haha
I'm in for this challenge, I'm right before starting Dead Beat, and this is a great motivation to speed up with this series :)
I'm at Death Masks... Hmm. It's unlikely for me at best considering my other to be read pile... But maybe.
Awwwwww Ashley Marie, you say the most motivating things :-) So many dresden-racers!
*claps hands with glee*
I'm at 13% with Proven Guilty. And as Steven said, push push push
I just read my chapter for today, beginning Death Masks and whoa. Way to start a book! Dresden and a talk show! :D
Steven, if I remember correctly, season 3 of GoT only covered half of book 3. If that helps ease the pressure! :)
I'm up to Blood Rites, which I need to start soon. I'll try to catch up, so what the heck, count me in for the challenge.
Somewhere closer to three quarters, by my recollection. But Logan's right. There's plenty of time to read GoT. More reason to prioritise it under Dresden ;)
I just started at 20% and am putting the Kindle down to sleep at 71%. I could keep reading but I don't want to be too useless tomorrow! Loving Proven Guilty.I read a little more of Storm of Swords but something sad happened in a Jon Snow chapter and I had to stop for my emotional sanity. LOL

haha. yes I loved that too
haha. yes I loved that too
Karen, I just looked back through the comments and realised we are probably the closest to each other in where we are up to as well :)
Indeed! I am trying to finish it over the next few days as I have a line up of other books calling me ;)
Edit - finished today! I really enjoyed this one.

I'm 10% in Dead Beat and already loving it (of course polka rulez), but also the whole story with Murphy sounds really intriguing.
I'm in! I discovered the Dresden Files this year, and I've read books 1-5 between January and February, they're that addictive. Right now I'm reading Blood Rites... between Harry and Thomas, there's a lot of snark going on!
I finished Blood Rites tonight. What a ride! Harry had some awesome one liners in this book and I have to say that the erotic film angle was just bonkers and hilarious. (view spoiler)
I finished Dead Beat couple of days ago, and I'm moving to Proven Guilty soon.I really like Dead Beat. (view spoiler). I'm really looking forward to the next installment.
I finished Changes (#12) the other day. Whoa. I'm still stunned. I don't know how JB does it. This series is already excellent - and it just keeps getting better and better. How is that possible?
Lisa Kay wrote: "I finished Changes (#12) the other day. Whoa. I'm still stunned. I don't know how JB does it. This series is already excellent - and it just keeps getting better and better. How..."Changes is B.A.N.A.N.A.S. Like, crazy town. I remember reading it for the first time (before Ghost Story was published), and just being bereft. I didn't know what to do with myself after "the things" happened! I thought there was no going back from that! I can't wait to see your reaction to some of the things that happen in Ghost Story, LK...but I'm even more excited to see your reaction to something that happens in Cold Days!
I finished Dead Beat today. I really liked it, it's amazing how Jim Butcher keeps surprising me with new creatures and plot twists. But, the best part of the whole book can be summed up in just a word for me: (view spoiler)I'm also really intrigued about (view spoiler)
You know, I tried to read one chapter a day, but I found it really hard. Not just because the book was good. But because it's so hard for me to keep up interest in a thirty chapter book read slowly over a month :/Anyone else?
Yes I tied too Nicole, but I find I need to read in larger chunks. I have them on my kindle so I'm giving 10% a day a go
I tend to read these books within one or two sittings, but then I usually need a break, thus I read two a month. Now Proven Guilty is coming :)
Is anyone interested in a regular "buddy read" of the Dresden Files
