LMBO! Oh, Ash, now you have me really looking forward to Dead Beat. Hmmmm... makes me wonder about the title, too. ☺

LK, that video is hilarious!
Has Butters been introduced as a major character yet for where you are in the series?
Because if he hasn't yet, you're in for a treat!

Thanks for this video. And indeed, Butters is one great character.

Thanks for the link, Lauren!

You're welcome, Nicole!
I don't remember any Butters prior to Dead Beat. Something to look forward to :0)
Ok, just started
I'm only 15% in, but I'm liking it. The style is interesting how they are just peppering bits of info in about the "magic" world without forcing descriptions down your throat. Nice to have a male narrator for a change too.

To the best of my knowledge, there's only the one full-length story that he didn't narrate (I don't think he's done any of the short stories, however, with the exception of the collection Side Jobs).

I thought Side Jobs was the only short story anthology that had been released! Or, do you mean ones that have appeared in other books with other people?

Storm Front

Ok, so I liked that we recently got to see some actual wizardry. I loved the "catching" of the fairy! I also liked being able to see what Harry can actually do with the confrontation with the vamp and then the 'visitor' to his home.
He seems to have a lot of people after him. I think the mob and the vamp, but then also his "missing husband" case must have a connection. I have a feeling there is more to that than meets the eye, and perhaps that guy is responsible for the killings? hmmmm

haha
Ok, so I have finished Storm Front. what a lot of fun. This is definitely a series for me when you want to just read something to have a grand old time.
I think my favourite line was when the photographer says:
"I shot my roll and got out". I grinned, but he didn't seem to have noticed the doule entendre. You just don't get quality lowlife often enough anymore"

Gritty paranormal noir. :) Who knew?
haha indeed!
Well I am going to start book 2 on audio (thanks Sonia).
I currently have The Adventures of Augie March going as my audio book, but it is *22 hours*! So I am going to pause that for a bit and have Harry on my commute instead :)

Hey Karen, I'm in a lot of different threads with you at the moment and am completely floored by how much reading you are managing to keep on top of!
haha Nicole... But if you are also in those threads then aren't you also keeping on top of all that reading? ;)

Omg. How can I concentrate on this book with James Marsters narrating?! It is like being covered in warm honey
*slap*
Must re-start and try and listen to the actual words

Just imagine my disappointment when I found out there weren't all like that.

Plus the warmth on Marsters voice acts like a comfort blanket against the darkness of the gritty paranormal noir touch :)

I had the exact same problem, Sonia :( I was so disappointed in my first post-Dresden audiobook.

Haha, that is so funny. I MUST get these on audio!!

His narration of Carnival of Souls is very good too but is less personal.
I guess he gives it an extra on a first person angle. Which I totally go for it, since he makes Harry so much worth it.

Chapter 27
You're right about Jimbo throwing everything at poor Harry!!
