"I read this in my childhood, I must have been maybe 10 or 11 (and several times since), strangely this one made me fall in love with books for one, and with science fiction, even though there not much Sci-Fi in it. "This was some mandatory reading in high school, and I'll tell you I was miserable when I first read that. I only picked up Victor Hugo's books much much later, in my late thirties, when i had the maturity to actually understand the undercurrents of social criticisms in it, and only then did I come to appreciate the immense talent of the man. I must say, my high school years left me with an intense distaste for the classics, which i only overcame years later, although to this days (I'm in my late 60's) I still can't read anything by Honoré de Balzac. Morality, teachers shouldn't force feed the classics to kids that don't have the emotional maturity to appreciate it."

"A song of Ice and fire is an excellent Fatasy series, the only drw back is that we've been waiting for years for it's final tomes and there's no end in sight, and George RR Martin is now quite OLD. In all probability he will die before he finishes it (and, contrary to Robert Jordan, has explicitly said he wouldn't want another author to finish the saga in his stead if he would croak before he published the last one). Still, even with those reservations it's still one of my favorites fantasy books of all times. I'm only sad that it will probably never reach a conclusion)"

"The first book I ever read in the original version, I was doing a year abroad in England at the time, and this was lying on the lounge or our shared house, I scooped it and i had to slave with and English/French dictionary to read it. Even though it's rather short it took me about a month. I still maintain today that's the best JRR Tolkien's book, laying the foundation for the many complex stories he wrote after."

"I discovered Brandon Sanderson when he wrote the 14th novel of the Wheel of Time Cycle, at first I was wary, how could anyone replace Robert Jordan whose books I had been hounding for years already ? And as i read i realized that Sanderson had been brilliantly up to the challenge, so that got me curious and i stated reading the Mistborn, and other stories from him and loving each and everyone of them. The Stormlight Archive is by far his best work in my opinion, even though it's horrible to have to wait for each volume :)"

This book delves deep and put you inside the mind of a sociopath unapologetically, I reread it 2 or 3 times and it's chilling, mind numbing and so satisfying when the "hero" gets caught a the end. I mean even though it's fiction, the feeling is so real that you can't help to think "take that you bastard" at the end. "

"The Wheel of time cycle is probably the story I read the most, in part because the wait between books was so long i had to reread the whole story from the start each time one came out. When Robert Jordan died leaving it unfinished I was devastated, i had invested years of my life in it, happily Brendan Sanderson did complete the story in a very satisfying manner a couple years after Robert Jordan's passing, The wheel of time to this day remains in my view one or the greatest fantasy books ever."
