Here are the rules:
Scripts Tower
To read a total of 104 books with the following categories:
a. First name of author starting with the letter… (A-Z)
b. Last name of author starting with the letter … (A-Z)
c. First word in title starting with the letter… (A-Z) (ignoring the, a, & an)
d. Name (of a person / character) in title starting with the letter… (A-Z)
For the hard letters (Q, X, Z) an exception is being made for the word / name to contain the letter (rather than starting with).
Clarification on 'd' - the intent is for the name in title to refer to a person's name. For example, The Winter Rose may not count as it references to a flower whilst Rose by Any Other Name counts as the Rose here is actually a character in the book. It still counts if Rose is not really a character in the book but only if you can justify that it is a name of a person rather than a flower. Only First Names and ignore series name (subtitle okay)
There is no limitation to page numbers / editions.
Further clarification of item d from Tien - My apologies to all as it seems I have not been able to explain coherently what I'm looking for with the 'name in title' issue. As I said previously, the intention is for a person's name however I'll provide you all with a rule of thumb instead (which may prompt some of you to review your choices) and that is...
"Is it a name which you would name your child by? If yes, then by all means..."
Please only reserve 3 at a time.

Makes sense. :)
So I guess we shouldn't reserve any years..."
That is what I am asking everyone to do on the Shelves and Scripts Tower planning threads.

No problem. I have the books in my January pile just in case. But we don'..."
Susan and Amy - I am going to mark you off for those shelves on the Shelves Tower planning thread. That way you will have them reserved and if we find they are misses, I will make a note later.

That's what I thought, lol. Makes it harder for the rest of us.

Thanks

Susan, the reserved shelves will be marked off on the planning thread by me as I will be coordinating the shelves tower. Here is the link to the planning thread.

As for Les Mis - I don't have a good excuse, and I am pretty sure that I read less than any if you did, lol. I like the idea of the read-a-longs, though. It works really well for the Chunksters.

Sooooo - I'm pretty sure that I can just copy my 2012 list and be good. That's how bad I did on the 2012 challenges.
as stated, here is the list. I only read one from my list last year, lol.
2. The Poisonwood Bible
3. The Kite Runner
4. Amagansett by Mark Mills
5. The Fire
6. The Mists of Avalon
7. The Street of a Thousand Blossoms
8. I Am the Messenger
9. The Way of the Traitor
10. Déjà Dead

I do, I do....I am thinking January. December is horrible for me and I don't think I will even finish one book. ;(
