8565 BTW - I am doing all 4 games, plus the MT. TBR one, but I am not "officially" doing them, as I plan to take as long as I need to get them completed. I just like the challenge of finding the books mostly, lol.

There is a thread in the GR Feedback group where many people are posting comments just like that. The group is a public group and anyone can join. Here is the link to the http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/9...

8565 So - My reporting thread is above, but I do want to clarify. If you are in your 50's you read as many books as it takes you to get to shelf 500? And what if your birthday is in the middle of the game? Do you just go by what your age is right now?

As for my favorite book of all time, I agree with Susan. It could be any number of books, but four came to mind right off the bat, so ......I am going to roll a die to choose one.

Scoozer is in this little bitty group I am in of ladies from the US and Canada. It is called GR-101 and I think there are only 15 members total. You two should definitely meet, though. You both are the best challenge designers I have ever met.

8565 You just crack me up, Tien. You must have too much time on your hands. I love this as I have a HUGE TBR. I will be reading off of my "to read mine" list. People who know me well tell me I should rename this list as my "Orphaned books" list as once I buy a book almost never get read. I am always busy reading library and borrowed books. That said, I think I understand this whole thing, EXCEPT the bonus task. So here are my questions.

1. If I understand correctly, I get to define my own Magic Number and Bonus Task. Right?

2. Since we are rolling two dice, can the Magic Number be anything between 1 and 12?

3. When I roll my Magic Number, do I always do the Bonus Task, or do I get to choose to read the book at that position or the Bonus Task?

4. Did you REALLY come up with this in 30 minutes???? As always, I am impressed. I should introduce you to my friend Scoozer. She does the challenges in my other group, and you two are definitely both very creative and very driven. :)

8565 As usual, I'm in for this one, too. Here I go.

Roll 1: 2/1 = Paranormal Romance
Roll 2: 2/4 = Scifi-fantasy
Roll 3: 4/1 = 5 stars
Roll 4: 6/5 = 2009
Roll 5: 1/2 = manga
Roll 6: 5/1 = FREE READ (Woot!)
Roll 7: 4/6 = 2010
Roll 8: 4/4 = general
Roll 9: 5/3 = cookbooks
Roll 10:3/1 = FREE READ

Connect Three: Rolls 3, 6, and 10

So, I just have to read 10 books that don't get used anywhere else, lol. Should be a cinch......NBOT

8565 I am impressed, too, Amy. I, unfortunately, usually have my books for the next month set by the 20th of the prior month or so, and in looking at the 12 books I have slated for October, there are not many that fit. They either hit the same shelves, which is some cases makes no sense, or they are too new to have many, or in one case--ANY-- shelves.

One of the things I love about both this group in general, and the Shelf-a-thons in particular is seeing how some people shelve certain books. It cracks me up.

I agree, Tien. My favorite part of almost any challenge is the planning. I can really get into that.
8565 Susan and Tara - I agree, neither have I, this should be an interesting month for me.

8565 Yep, Ebony, that is correct. The goal is to hit as many shelves on the list as possible in 4 weeks. :)

Same here, Dee. I can't get it to download. Luckily I have a REALLY old one from Tien from when we used to do the original Shelf-a-thon game, so I can just adapt.

8565 Count me in, but to all who know me, you know I probably won't finish, lol. Still it will be fun. I love Shel-a-Thon games.
