8565 From Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder:

I wandered through the market, marveling at the variety of goods available for sale. Practical items like food and clothing sat side by side with jewelry and handicrafts. A pine scent from the torches dominated, but it didn't take long for me to discern the smell of roasting meat. I followed the mouthwatering aroma to a fire pit. A tall man covered with sweat turned the meat that sizzled in the flames. His white apron was streaked with soot. I bought some hot beef from him to eat right away and some smoked jerky for later.

Karen F - Larson has a new book coming out in May. It is In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin. I am almost finished with an ARC of it and it is pretty good. Really interesting.
8565 Assassination Vacation sounds really interesting. I have put it on my TBR and may have to see if the library has it.

8565 What a great pick, Dee. I'm sure I have tons of books from that shelf waiting to be read!

8565 Man, I wish we could use books we already read, lol. BUT I am going to do a REAL sandwich and read Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder for number #10. It is the middle of a trilogy and therefore "sandwiched" between the first and last book.

OK - you definitely had to be one of the original members, Luann. Glad you are still around.

8565 I told you to join Goodreads, but you told me to joing this group. I checked and you joined a day before I did.

Natasha - Looks like you were one of the original members.

Dee - Congrats on your anniversary, too.

8565 I actually like poetry, but don't read it very often. This will be a fun one, Karen. And I agree, Project Gutenber is such a great site for free on-line reading. Their files can be easily downloaded to an e-reader, too.

8565 HA! April is my two year anniversary, too. Imagine that, lol :) (Actually I might have joined in March). This was also the first group that I joined, thanks to you, and it is still my fave. I have met so many great people on this site and in this group.

Glad that you joined and that we are sharing this experience together.

I know. I found some from 5 centuries, too, but it took some doing. It helps that they don't have to be over 100 pages. Not sure if I will get to all of mine this month, but I have them on tap.

Actually, Karen, that really helps cuz it will make the Poetry reading much easier as many books of poetry are only 70 or 80 pages long.

I actually have that one slated to read next month. Maybe I should bump out up a month. Do you have a copy?
