8565 Yay, Vi, great choice. Not a huge horror fan, but that is what this group is all about, right? Besides, I have had Stephen King's Night Shift on my currently reading list forever. I have only read the first story, so this will be a perfect opportunity to finish it.

8565 Square 6 2009
Book Title:City of Ashes
Author: Cassandra Clare
Date Finished: 4/05/2012
Star Rating: ****

Review: While I cannot say that I enjoyed this book quite as much as the first book in the series, it was another hit for the author. It is the continuing story of Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon and Alex as they struggle to deal with growing up, feelings, and the threat both their world and ours. The author did a good job of continuing to develop the characters as well as setting us up for the next book.

Book Title:Grave Mercy
Author: R.L. LaFevers
Date Finished: 4/14/2012
Star Rating: *****

Review: This book had everything that I like in it. It was historically based, had a lot of court intrigue, a wonderful leading characters, and a bit of both mystery and romance. With a little mythology thrown in. Couldn't be better.
This is the first book in a new historical mystery series called His Fair Assassin and I am anxiously awaiting the next book.
8565 Alternate history is the exercise of looking at the past and asking "what if"? What if some major historical event had gone differently, and how could that have changed the world?
8565 So many good books, so little time!

Oh man, The Handmaid's Tale. That is another one that I have that I have been wanting to read. What to do, what to do. There are just not enough hours in the day!

I loved The Eyre Affair and highly recommend it.
8565 I, too, have so many to choose from. I have the whole Temeraire Series, so I might start with

His Majesty's Dragon

But I also have:

The Well of Lost Plots
1945
Pearl Harbor: A Novel of December 8th
11/22/63
The Golden Compass

I'm sure if I get to at least one of these I will be doing great.
