My sentiments exactly, Michelle :)

8565 Man, I just can't decide which set to go for. 12 seems too few, I really want to read more books that are already on my TBR, but 26 is a lot since I read a lot of review books which are new. I think I am going to challenge myself and go for 26, though.

8565 If I understand this correctly, title option one must have every word in the title fit into the letters that you have open for pick a shelf. So Lessons In Chemistry would work, but The Raging Storm would not because there is no R.

Also, what are we thinking about titles beginning with A, The, etc?

How was your trip Susan. It sounded amazing.

There are some good series on this list. Elly Griffiths has a couple of other sleuth series besides the Harbinder Kaur ones...my favorite are the Ruth Galloway mysteries.

I know. These lists are always interesting to me....to see what books are there and which ones aren't listed. I would think the Armand Gamache books would fit perfectly.

I'm looking forward to it, Lucie. I read In the Woods a long time ago. I have all of the Dublin Murder Squad books, but have only read the first one, lol.

What type of mysteries do you like? If you like ones with a bit of humor, then the Stephanie Plum series is really good. A bit more serious, but not too gory are the KInsey Milhone books, which start with A is for Alibi. I also like the Elvis Cole/Joe Pike books by Robert Crais or the Myron Bolitar ones by Harlan Coben. And if you are into cozy mysteries, that opens a whole new door.

8565 I would have to say that my favorite book sleuth is Agatha Christie's Jane Marple. I have enjoyed reading those books over and over. But then Sherlock Holmes is good, too, as well as Kinsey Milhone. The list could probably go on and on.

I think my choices for the month will be:

One Last Lie by Paul Doiron
and
The Likeness by Tana French
May 30, 2023 02:33PM

8565 This one is a new one to me. I have read many books on the list, but never knew they had a genre or trope. I grew up in a family that had a lot of "found family" members and as a result I had a lot of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and even a couple siblings that would fit that description.

For my books this month I choose:

Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (I've had this book on my TBR forever, and it might even be on my LOST list. I'll have to check. )
Apr 21, 2023 01:38PM

8565 My choice for the month is the next book in the Thursday Murder Club series, The Bullet That Missed

yes, because there is a list of past shelves in that thread albeit sorted by month instead of years :)"

I thought the list was in prompt 12, not prompt 13? Prompt 13 in a series prompt.

Jayme, The Joy Luck Club is a favorite of mine also.

Lahni wrote: "Jayme wrote: "I have Memoirs of A Geisha and The Nightningale."

I loved both of these books! They are both on my short list of all time favorites."

memoirs of a Geisha is one of my all time faves, too. I haven't yet read The Nightingale, but I have it. Maybe I'll check it out this month.
