8565 Chick - lit is not my usual either, although I do like to intersperse them among my regular heavier subjects, so this is good timing. Not sure what I am going to read, but here are a few of the possibilities:

The Candid Life of Meena Dave
The Messy Lives of Book People
Can You Keep a Secret?

I have had Can You Keep a Secret on my TBR forever. My sister read it and says it is really good.

8565 I've read 7 of my 20 planned, but I might have a few more that I haven't checked out yet. Interestingly, my required colors seem to be pretty evenly distributed. Of the seven that I have read, one was a wild, one was blue, three were green and two were read. Unlike you guys, I am having a really hard time finding blue covers. It seems that every cover that I think is blue actually comes out to be a combination of blacks and grays with a little bit of blue, but not enough to make the % threshold. The same is happening with yellow and browns and tans. Red tends to have a lot of pink in it, but I have managed to find some covers with enough red. Green however, doesn't seem to be a problem for me, lol.

8565 I have been meaning to read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society so I might try that one. Another possibility is The Turn of the Key or, The Remains of the Day.

As fir journaling or writing letters, I can't remember the last time that I did either. I keep saying that I am going to start a journol/diary each year, but never make it past January 2. lol.

8565 The action shelf has always fascinated me. I find that I file very few books to that shelf in general. I think it must be because I am usually looking for books that are mostly action based vs. books of other genres that have a lot of action in them. Most sci=fi, fantasy and urban fantasy books have a lot of action and I would expect to see quite a few of those on the list. A few of the books on the list that I have really enjoyed are the books of the Dresden Files series, the Dan Brown books, and The Princess Bride. As for me, I am considering:

The Nowhere Man, which I have had on my TBR for quite a while.
a re-read of Storm Front just because I like Harry Dresden so much.
Timeline
The Chase by Clive Cussler

Not sure...We'll see what I end up with.

I really like the Jack Reacher books, but then I like thrillers and read a lot of them. I think the character of Jack Reacher is fascinating. The only thing is that the stories can get a bit graphic at times.

I read Dark Matter when it first came out and it was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. As for Storm Front, that is my favorite series ever. I may re read it for this month.

I will probably never catch up as I have a current rollover number of 25, but I hope to start hitting the original month total soon.

I seem to see Evelyn Hardcastle everywhere and that's probably why I avoid it - lol, maybe one day but then again it doesn't quite sound like something I'd enjoy. Let me know pls :)"

I will.

That should help me narrow down the list, then, lol. Actually I think the front runners are the Evelyn Hardcastle book or The Lighthouse Witches.

8565 I have several books on the list in my TBR as gothic is a genre I tend to enjoy. If fact, my mother raised me on gothic romances by reading Victoria Holt, Mary Stewart, Phyllis A. Whitney and Daphne du Maurier is one of my favorite authors. Here are the books I have, but I'm not sure which one I will read:

The Broken Girls by Simone St. James I want to read her new book next month, too.
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton
Black Rabbit Hall by Eve Chase
The Lighthouse Witches by C.J. Cooke
Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield
The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

There are more, but I didn't want to list them all. Which one I read will probably have something to do with what other challenges it fits into.

8565 So I had to go back and refresh myself on the rules. I'm doing better than I thought, but still not good. So far I have read 4 and am reading a March book now. So 5 so far.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
