8565 I think the thing with me and medieval royalty is that they lived so differently than us. I like regency and 1920s, too. If there is one period that I avoid these days it is WWII, I have to admit. I do read some of it, but there is so much and it seems to all be about women spies that I get a bit overwhelmed.
8565 OOOOh...my favorite category to read. A lot of my favorite books of all time are historical fictions. I don't really have a favorite time period, although I have read and own numerous books about medieval royalty. I do, however, have a favorite type. I am especially drawn to big multi time period sagas about a certain area or culture. Learning about other cultures and times really fascinates me. As for favorite books in this genre, there are a few. One of the first big historical fiction books I read was Hawaii by James A. Michener and it is still one of my favorites. In fact, I pretty much like anything he has written. Other favorites are The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, Sarum: The Novel of England by Edward Rutherfurd. Those are only a few as my list is REALLY long.

As for next month, the books I have slated that are historical fictions are:

The Last Russian Doll
Light to the Hills
Night Angels

That may be all for April, but we'll see.
