I lived in Forks for 8 years (yes, the town really exists), and I love that cover, too!"

You live in Forks??? How cool. I LOVE that area and my husband and I have been talking about making a trip up there sometime soon. We haven't been in that area since 1986, which was a LONG time ago, lol.

8565 Thanks all.

Tara - She is good, just really busy with two teenage boys and has NO computer time anymore. She misses you all, though.

That is exactly it, Tara. It always fascinates me when people see books so totally differently. I love that about us. My sister is another one. She liked it, but didn't like the way it ended, but I can't see it ending any other way. At least not and still be as good.
8565 According to About.com :"The definition of a "classic" can be a hotly debated topic. Depending on what you read, or the experience of the person you question on the topic, you may receive a wide range of answers. So, what is a "classic"--in the context of books and literature?
A classic usually expresses some artistic quality.
A classic stands the test of time.
A classic has a certain universal appeal.
A classic makes connections. "

So dig through those books to find quotes that you think are classics and put them here. And while you are at it, tell us why you think the book you are reading is a classic, or why it isn't

8565 A 5 star vote for The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. It is always a good sign when I find numerous quotes that I want to remember in the first few pages. This book has a well crafted story line, wonderful characters, and a writing style that is both lyrical and addicting. It is a real treat and a must read IMO.

8565 Keeping with the theme of "everyone has different and diverse tastes", I just finished The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. I can't believe that anyone would abandon this book, it got an enthusiastic 5 stars from me. It is always a good sign when I find numerous quotes that I want to remember in the first few pages. 8565 I do that a lot, Luann. If I somehow get interrupted, I would almost rather start over than start in the middle.

Hey Tina - How are you? I started Rebecca a while ago and really liked it, but then I left it at my sister's house and never got to finish it. I am looking forward to maybe getting it finished in March.
