“Does Air Canada have a refund policy?
What Is Air Canada’s Refund Policy? ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Yes ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, Air Canada has a refund policy that provides a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of purchase ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, but eligibility for refunds after this period depends on the fare type purchased ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║. Air Canada’s refund policy is designed to balance passenger rights with fare rules and airline operations ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║. In general, whether you are eligible for a refund depends heavily on the type of fare you purchased ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, whether the flight was delayed or canceled by the airline, and how soon you request the refund. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║

Refund Eligibility & Voluntary vs Involuntary Cancellations ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Air Canada distinguishes between voluntary and involuntary cancellations ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║. Voluntary cancellations are those made by travelers ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, and refund eligibility here depends on the fare class—refundable fares allow for refunds; non‑refundable ones often don’t ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, or offer credits instead. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Involuntary cancellations (e.g. when Air Canada cancels or significantly changes a flight ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, or there is a delay of 3+ hours) often grant you the option to request a refund for the unused portions of your ticket. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║

24‑Hour Rule & Fare‑Type Conditions ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
One of the most important user‑friendly parts of Air Canada’s refund policy is the 24‑hour cancellation window ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║. If you cancel your booking within 24 hours of purchase ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, you are often entitled to a full refund to your original form of payment ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, regardless of fare type (though there may be exceptions in fare rules). ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Outside that window, whether you get cash back, a credit ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, or no refund at all depends on the specific fare you selected (Basic, Standard, Flexible ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, Refundable) and any fees tied to changes or cancellations. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║

How to Request a Refund or Cancel a Booking ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
If your booking is directly with Air Canada (through their website, mobile app, contact centres ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, or other direct channels like Aeroplan), you can manage cancellations or refunds through the “My Bookings” interface. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
If you booked through an online travel agency or travel agent ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, you will usually need to go back to them to request your refund, because they control that booking record. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║

Refunds for Delays, Flight Changes, & Other Airline‑Caused Disruptions ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
When Air Canada cancels a flight ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, delays it by three or more hours, or reschedules so that departure or arrival airports differ significantly ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, you are generally eligible for a refund for the unused portion of your fare under their involuntary refund policy. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
Also ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, if you’re downgraded to a lower cabin or the number of stopovers increases significantly ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║, you may request a refund. These rules protect passengers when changes are made by the airline rather than by the traveler. ║⇠⟦+1⟧⇢ ⊹ 888 ⊹ 8▫29 ⊹ 1631 ⊹║
