Good luck with it, Karin. I read it a few years ago and enjoyed it, but then, this is my type of book. Hope it is not too hard to get through.

It was good and what I typically expect from Sarah Addison Allen. It was lacking some of the magic from Garden Spells, but I still enjoy..."
I agree, Katie. I liked Garden Spells a bit better than this one.

Wow, I thought I was doing good cuz I am on my third book!

I used to read a lot of poetry until some 5 years ago or so... but now I don't anymore. ..."
These all look great, Marina. As I said above, Leaves of Grass is one of my favorite books of all time.
And I am really looking forward to The Lady of Shalott.

I looked at that one, too, Ariel. I love Arthurian legend.

The Lady of Shalott by Alfred Tennyson
A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson
and A Treasury Of Great Poems, English And American, From The Foundations Of The English Spirit To The Outstanding Poetry Of Our Own Time, With Lives Of T by Louis Untermeyer
As a child I had The Golden Treasury of Poetry a collection of children's poems put together by Louis Untermeyerso I thought I would see what he did with adult poetry.

I have to admit, I grew up reading the poetry of Louis Undermeyer, Robert Louis Stevenson, and others, but sadly have not read much poetry since college. And that was MANY moons ago....
I will say, however, that one of my prize possessions is a 150th anniversary annotated copy of Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass: The Original 1855 Edition By: Walt Whitman.
So let's all peruse the list and see what strikes our fancy!

I am running out for a while, but will be back this afternoon to start the appropriate threads. Hope everyone enjoys the Poetry!

I have a number of TBR based on a lot of different things, and I, too, move books from list to list. I have been using the date that I first listed it on any Goodreads list as that is the date that Goodreads supplies. So I would say that your scenario would be a Left Foot item.

I'm not sure....my inclination would be yes, also, but I know there was a lot of discussion around not being able to use obscure references or discriptives like yellow flower for Y....hopefully Tien will weigh in soon.

Thanks Bea. I thought about that and might do that, but I have to read both books this month for monthly challenges in other groups, and I am not really sure I even want to read The Painted Gun, so I figured if I have to read it, I may as well use it for more than just one thing, lol. Hopefully I'll like it more that I think.

This was a relatively quick read, sort of an introduction to the author for me as I have her second book to read for review. I really enjoyed the way that the author wrote the characters, and she did a pretty good job and misdirecting me through out most of the book. I did figure out the twist before it was revealed, but not early on....I was only too happy to follow the author down the rabbit hole that she built. In the end, I was glad that I was wrong, though, but it taught me a bit about my preconceived notions.
I'm looking forward to the next book I have by her.

I have this one to read someday. Thanks for the review.
