Sorry Marina. I had sent her the list, but things got a bit mucked up. I will send her a PM also.

I totally agree. I read this years ago, but really need to finish the trilogy!

This is one of my favorites. Did you ever see the movie with Mandy Moore?

8565 Kirss is our shelf picker for the month of December, and her choice is a shelf simply designated as 1.

Let us know what you think of your choices!

8565 I think that I am going to sit this one out this year and concentrate on some other challenges I have going or that are just getting started. I might join in late, though.
Nov 20, 2016 02:45PM

8565 I still haven't decided what I am going to read from the shelf myself. I'm hoping to find one of the books I am already reading for other groups on the shelf. That would be nice.

As for my "Never get tired of" book - for me it would probably be Little Women, which I just re-read this month.

That makes since, Nikki. Hope that is not the case with most of these, though, lol. It's true that multiple people use the same designation for different reasons and you end up with a hodge-podge shelf.

I'll have to add the Anne Rice book to my TBR. I enjoyed A Walk to Remember. Have you ever watched the movie?

More imjportantly, it is on the shelf list on Page 2. I really enjoyed it when I read it, but that was years ago. Hope you enjoy.

I feel you. The first two that show up on the list for me are A Tale of Two Cities and Les Misérables, neither of which I feel like tackling in December. I think I will keep looking....
Nov 16, 2016 05:54PM

8565 So, I was looking at the list and at first I thought the 1 stood for the first book in a series, but as I looked further down the list, there are several stand alone books and some books that are farther along in a series.

I've looked over the list and I am not sure what the 1 stands for. Any ideas? Alternately, what is the 1 book that you could read over and over again and never get tired of?

8565 Kirss picked 1 as the shelf for December. (Yes there is such a shelf!) Not sure what the reference is, but there are plenty of books, so it should be fun.

8565 Just FYI - I will be taking over the administration of the monthly shelf picker threads as of December 2016 so Tien can concentrate on all of the great games and challenges that we have going on.

Thanks Cassie.

I have tried to use the mobile app many times, but most of the time it seems that I am trying to do something that it does not have the functionality for. Mostly replying to posts and linking books. :P

I have also had problems getting it to show me all of the posts on long threads. I like the fact that the computer lets you go directly to the new posts. Do you know if there is a way around this on the mobile app?
Nov 08, 2016 11:37AM

8565 I would much rather log onto the regular site from my mobile than to use the mobile app. It has lots of issues IMO.
