I know, I was all excited and then it just said letters on the way.....

Yes, Elvenn directed to her profile page. Sassafrass hasn't picked a shelf yet.

Thanks Elvenn. I will follow up with Sassafrass to see what her shelf of choice is for March and all.

Daughter of Fortune is planned for my Feb..."
I read The Library at Mount Char last year, Bea, and it was really good. I recommend it!

After much browsing through the shelves, I’ve finally decided on one that seemed especially interesting and with a wide variety of books: Magical Realism.

Also - Don't forget to pick an image for our February avitar and forward it to me by PM so I can update the group page when February starts.

As for February, I plan to read either The Fifth Petal by Brunonia Barry, which is the second book in her Lace Reader series. I might also try to fit in either American Gods or Practical Magic, both of which I have been wanting to read for quite a while.

In addition, Susan has kindly given us a link to her shelf of Magical Realism books for inspiration.
For those of you who are familiar with the genre, what is your favorite MR book?

For anyone who's totally new to the genre, I have almost 40 on my Magical Realism shelf, ranging from 2 stars to 5 stars. I've reviewed most of them. Everyone is welcome to e..."
That will be really useful, Susan. Thanks so much for the link!

Thanks Elvenn, that is a great choice. I'm off to set up the What will you read thread!

Coralie- I'm impressed you've read so many of them from the first page! I think I've read about half, so I have a bit more to go.

I just sent you a PM with instructions on picking the next Shelf Picker. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for setting it up and changing the avitar, Tien!

I am happy to see, though, that the list in question has a book on it that I have already slated to read in January. The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood has been on my list for quite a while, and a friend and I decided to buddy read it in January. Plus it fits in a challenge that I am doing.
A Tale of Two Cities has also been on my LOST list forever.....and is still on the list for 2017, I think. It is on the Bucket List, but I'm not sure that I want to start out the year reading such a massive book. I know I wouldn't finish it in January anyway, but I might go ahead and start it.

With that in mind....Do y'all have any books that you would put on a bucket list?

Since we have the shelf, I am going to go ahead and start the thread for our reading lists so everyone can plan.

Of course, if she posts here, you all may know before me, lol.
