Joyce is our shelf picker for May and she has chosen
Comics and Graphic Novels. We haven't had this choice in quite a while, so it will be fun to see what is new and different. Hope you all enjoy!

Tien wrote: "I just wanted to say that I tried... probably picked the wrong book though, The Empty Bed. The whiff of an affair completely turned me off and I gave up around 20%, I think."I hate when that happens, Tien. I have had a few like that, but this month wasn't one of them.

That is a great one, Tien!

I thought I had it all figured out by chapter 7, but much to my surprise I was wrong!"That is what is so great about Gillian Flynn in my book. She never ceases to put in that last twist that I didn't see coming.

The Lace Reader when it first came out, and I just finished
The Fifth Petal last week. I need to post my review for it still, though.
Becky wrote: "Hi!!
I just joined today. I'm going to read Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I bought the book many months ago and forgot it was on my shelf!"Welcome to the group, Becky. I hope you enjoy your book. I have that book as well and hope to get to it someday. I will be anxious to know what you thought about it.
Karin wrote: "Wow, at first I wasn't thrilled with this shelf, since it's not my cup of tea, but that plus a lead to a kindle deal that lined up with a different shelf read has led me to a book I quite like for ..."What book is that, Karin?

All of these choices look great. I can't wait to see what we all think of our selections.
Susan wrote: "Lyn,
I kept looking for this thread and thinking you hadn't started it yet. I finally realized I should look farther down. It needs a * to bump it up to the top."yes it does....I forgot to do that,

So - I had listed 3 books to read and I picked them up from the library yesterday. Well, one of them,
A Treasury Of Great Poems, English And American, From The Foundations Of The English Spirit To The Outstanding Poetry Of Our Own Time, With Lives Of T is 1344 pages. I probably won't be reading the whole book, but I will list the poems that I choose to read out of that one. The other two books are manageable, so I will be reading them in their entirety.

I was going to try and do the beginning post for this month' s review thread as a poem since our shelf is poetry, but unfortunately, I have decided that I am not that clever, lol. So --Good morning and Happy April Fool's Day. It is the beginning of our poetry month, so get those books and poems going and post your reviews/thoughts.
Bea wrote: "Lyn (Readinghearts) wrote: "These all look great, Bea. As I said above, Leaves of Grass is one of my favorite books of all time."
I think you were referring to Marina's list, Lyn."Yep, I was. Sorry for the confusion!
Karin wrote: "Tien wrote: "Karin, I have no objection to your books especially the 2 rather obscure ones... 'obscure' in the sense that there are barely any ratings on them nor 'readers' and therefore, there are..."I just find it amazing that you are even reading the Complete Works of Plato. I'm not sure I could do that!
