Ariel Lawhon is the critically acclaimed author of THE WIFE, THE MAID, AND THE MISTRESS, FLIGHT OF DREAMS, and I WAS ANASTASIA. Her books have been translated into numerous languages and have been Library Reads, One Book One County, and Book of the Month Club selections. Ariel Lawhon I've always been inspired to write. It's just a matter of sitting down and doing it when I could be doing laundry instead.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the book! And yes, occasionally you will find books that have the same or similar covers. It just depends on when a publisher licenses a photo and for how long. Sometimes a publisher will buy a photo for single use (meaning others can come along and use the same photo) and other times a publisher will buy all rights to an image (so it can't be used by anyone else after that purchase date). Regardless, authors don't really get a part in that process.

Have a lovely day and a great weekend filled with reading!

Warmly,

I’m not much of a painter. In my thirty-four years of life I’ve only created one decent watercolor. And that was on accident in the third grade. But as the daughter of a prolific artist I have a deep respect for those who can create beauty with a brush, a bit of paint, and a canvas. I admire the way they dream things into being.

Sometimes I wonder if we place more importance on the being than th...

Interviews

March 2018, Ariel Lawhon
"Ariel Lawhon's historical fiction novels dig into the mysteries behind real-life times, events, and places that may be familiar to us but whose full stories we can never really know. In Flight of Dreams , she reimagined the Hindenburg disaster through the interwoven stories of the people involved. The Wife, the Maid, and the Mistress explored the disappearance of a mob-connected judge through the eyes of three women who knew him—and may have been involved. In her latest novel, I Was Anastasia , Lawhon reinvents the youngest daughter of Russia's doomed Romanov dynasty. " ...More

A beautifully written slow boil of a book. I’m late in discovering Louise Penny but I plan on reading everything else she’s written. Also, for the record, I am 100% in love with Chief Inspector Armand Gamache.
