October: Urban Legends Challenge
Duration: October 1st to 31st
Progress: 9 out of 16
Challenge Levels:
CHALENGED: ⇉ 6 - 10 books
VALIANT: ⇉ 11 - 15 books

Urban legends are the modern day version of folktales. The word 'urban' in the name, is rather misleading as the tales do not always take place in or around prominent cities. The stories, probably truer in nature to legends of old than most would believe, use fear as a means to teach the listener a lesson or, perhaps more accurately, to scare them out of certain behaviors.
Rules & How to play:
⇉ Read one urban legend from below. Repeat as desired.
⇉ All media formats allowed.
⇉ Rereads are fine as long as you read the entire book.
Tasks:
Express Train to Hell
Read a book that has a train in the cover, or that is set in a train or involves traveling. Or read a book where the main character spends some time in hell or equivalent. You can also read a book where a character is trying to save his soul or where a pact or deal with the devil or a demon lord is made.

Duration: 10/1/2017 - 10/31/2017
2013 Challenge
2014 Challenge
Progress: 3 out of 3
Easy - 3 to 4 books This challenge is a spell it out Challenge of three to four letter words you may hear a lot around this time of the year. As always you may use the title, name of characters, or the name of an author to link it to the letters. You may ignore the 'A', 'An', 'The', etc. at the beginning of titles to get to the first significant word. So "The Virgin's Secret" would be a 'V' title and "A Highlander Christmas" would be an 'H' title." You pick which word you want or come up with one we haven't.
