Nothing But Reading Challenges
Cleaning out the TBR Closet 2017
Duration: 1/1/2017 - 12/31/2017
Progress: 5 out of 5
Last year I started this challenge because I joined Goodreads in 2012, and still had books on my "to read" shelf from back then. They just stared at me... mockingly... asking me when I'm going to either read them or remove them from my shelf...
So in 2016 I cleaned out the closet and read or deleted all the books I have left on my tbr that I added in 2012.
It gave me a real kick in the pants to get those old books read, so I'm doing it again in 2017.
Would you like to join me?
This reading challenge is simple...
>sort your "to read" shelf by date
>pick the books that you are going to read which have been on your list the longest and set yourself a goal. You may decide to read all of your books from the oldest year, or you may just take the oldest 20, or 50, or 5 books on your list. Completely up to you how you set your goal and how many books you read!
I would appreciate it if you post your thoughts on the books once you finish them. Was it worth waiting for? :)
Read books added to your TBR in 2009

Challenge Levels:
CHALENGED: ⇉ 6 - 10 books
VALIANT: ⇉ 11 - 15 books
DAREDEVIL: ⇉ 16+ books
Urban legends are the modern day version of folktales. The word 'urban' in the name, is rather misleading as the tales do not always take place in or around prominent cities. The stories, probably truer in nature to legends of old than most would believe, use fear as a means to teach the listener a lesson or, perhaps more accurately, to scare them out of certain behaviors.

⇉ All media formats allowed.
⇉ Rereads are fine as long as you read the entire book.

You can also read a book where a character is trying to save his soul or where a pact or deal with the devil or a demon lord is made.

Progress: 3 out of 3
Easy - 3 to 4 books This challenge is a spell it out Challenge of three to four letter words you may hear a lot around this time of the year. As always you may use the title, name of characters, or the name of an author to link it to the letters. You may ignore the 'A', 'An', 'The', etc. at the beginning of titles to get to the first significant word. So "The Virgin's Secret" would be a 'V' title and "A Highlander Christmas" would be an 'H' title." You pick which word you want or come up with one we haven't.
