213642 I'm soooooo sorry I forgot I said I'd read the Belle book. SMH! Both y'all feel free to prod me if I forget in the future - well if either of you wanna do more. So sorry!!

I read a Belle book today completing Gaston. I'm so so sorry that I took an inexcusable amount of time to get it - I just completely forgot! :/

213642 Hey Carmen

I read Warden and it was alright. Solid 3.5 and wavered on if I wanted to rate up or down. Ended up going down because I don't think I'd read more. It was alright but simple the the terms of LitRPG. The characters were flat and the storyline was just okay. Was disappointed it wasn't better. But thanks for picking it. I dunno that I'll get to the other but YAY that I finally got to one... it's been a while! :D

213642 Hi Cayleigh! Nice to see ya! :)

MPG = Main Page Genre. Romance has to be listed on the book page the right in the Genres list.

Yeah, really Plethora! :/ Next thing we know it'll be Dec. :(

Bout of Books

Not a bad Bout of Books. Got a lot read - though most were short stories and novellas. Found a new-to-me series I enjoyed and found out a voice actor I love has done ONE audiobook - and it was great. He needs to do more!! Speaking of audiobooks, I ONLY read audiobooks. I didn't read a single Kindle book, which was odd. Good reading start to the year, now hopefully I can finish my edits of my book.

There's one book missing from my wrap-up below. It's been combined with others into a compilation, even though I read it as a standalone. But there's no info for it on its own now, so no way to post it.

213642 I'm in, but I'll give us a few more days before posting since it's a doozy to find some of these. I'll post pairs on the 5th, that should give us some time. I have some but not enough.

213642 I didn't read the ones I listed yet but read this one because it fit 12th in a series, and as a bonus it was a holiday book. I really enjoyed it, the characters were good as was the story. I definitely need to get back to more of the Troubleshooters books, I always enjoy them when I read them.

I'm not really a holiday reader type. This one just happened to be set at the end of the year so it was good in that regards for me.

213642 Apparently I don't like holiday books. I had two Christmas specific books on my shelves that I read that were 1 star, another that was 3, another a 2. Here's what I've found that I enjoyed.

My Recommendations:

White Silence (Elizabeth Cage, #1) by Jodi Taylor & Dark Light (Elizabeth Cage, #2) by Jodi Taylor Bring Me Home for Christmas (Virgin River, #14) by Robyn Carr The Winter Lodge (Lakeshore Chronicles #2) by Susan Wiggs The Last Noel by Heather Graham Dash & Lily's Book of Dares (Dash & Lily, #1) by Rachel Cohn The Gift Home for Christmas / All I Want for Christmas by Nora Roberts

I HIGHLY recommend White Silence - if you are into bizarre mysteries. It's a wild ride!

Want to read:

City of Windows (Lucas Page, #1) by Robert Pobi Conflict of Interest (Portland Police Bureau, #1) by Jae The Hanged Man (Her Majesty's Psychic Service, #1) by P.N. Elrod The Trials of Morrigan Crow (Nevermoor, #1) by Jessica Townsend The Evil Wizard Smallbone by Delia Sherman

213642 Thanks so much to Angie for doing this month and last month. I was/am in a NaNoWriMo fog for last month and still feeling that way so far this month. :D So many words... it's hard to be in the mood to write, or read, more. :D

I'll have to think on this one, I don't think I read a lot of holidays stuff, but I'll be back.

Oh wow! New Questions. But not great questions. :/ Sorry. I'll stick with the questions from last time.

Which hour was most daunting for you?
2 - 4am was the hardest for me, I my eyes hurt and I was tired. I got a small burst of energy around 4am but it didn't last and I ended up giving up at 5am and getting some sleep. I could have pushed through, but I was cranky and had said I wasn't going to push it so I didn't.

Tell us ALLLLL the books you read!
See Below

Which books would you recommend to other Read-a-thoners?
In general? Chronicles of St Mary's, Great Zoo of China, The Martian..... from what I read? In the Hall with a Knife

Wanna volunteer for our next event?
Nah - sorry. I prefer to just read.

Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon Stats

I completed 11 books, started 3 (1 ended up a DNF, will finish other 2)
I read 1540 pages
I read 5 books on my Kindle
I listened to 6 books as audiobooks
I read 3 Novels, the rest Novellas
I read for approximately 17 hours (7hr 20min on Kindle, 9hrs 40min hours on Audio)

It's time for Dewey's! This is my 14th, so I'm gonna be a little lazy and reuse some of these answers and this opening statement as well. Ha! I keep hoping the questions will change one of these times, and they don't... Ah well.

I'm excited for this Dewey's, as a way to get some reading in before the craziness of NaNoWriMo. I know some of you writers will be reading for the read-a-thon. Where are you? Leave me a comment so I can follow you for Dewey's and beyond with your writing!

I also can't wait for NaNo, during which I will write the 3rd book in my Erotic Romance series. See the links to the right, if you'd like to know more about the series.

Opening Meme:

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Sparta, NC ~ the middle of no where. :)

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
In the Hall with a Knife by Diana Peterfreund

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I WANTED Sour Patch Kids, but the store didn't have what I wanted and the regular ones were hard. So, the Hubby got me Skittles, which I love, except I'm a fan of lime and I still hate them for taking that from me! :)

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
HI! I'm Karsyn (some of you who have been around a while will know me as Karsyn @ KaKiJoKoJa - my book review blog), over 40 (though much much younger in spirit), deeply in love with and married to my high school best friend. I LOVE to read, obviously, and am blessed with a ton of time to read. In a typical month I will read 15-20 books, often more, and when there's something going on, like Dewey's, I read a ton more! Since I started writing, my reading has only suffered a little, I'm still on track for over 200 books for the year. Beyond my books, I'm a gamer, and I built my own Gaming PC, 4 years ago, which I named Widget (after The Night Circus character). Widget is GREAT and we've had so much fun playing games on him!!

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This is my 14th Dewey's so I'll do what I've been doing. :)

That time of the year again! Once again, too quick that it comes around. How is it almost November?
You know - I left that same line above that I wrote in April, only changed the month. How is it the year goes too fast?!

I believe this is my 14th Dewey's, I think. I really need to find out which I'm on. It's been a lot.

I went all 24 hours every time, which I loved, until April. Then, I was doing Camp NaNoWriMo, and I wanted to write rather than read so I made sure to sleep. I don't care for the Reverse Dewey's (has me awake more like 36 hours rather than 24) so I slept some then too.

Planning to do the full 24 hours this time, but don't know if I will or not. We'll see. :) Not going to push it.

As usual, I have no plans for Dewey's, as I'm a diehard Flybyer. (I'm also a pantser when it comes to writing, so I just don't do plans!) I have some books on my radar, but dunno if I'll get to them or not. A few that are likely are:
