213642 Welcome Lena!

We enjoy more than 2 sentences here. We can be a chatty lot, though it's been a bit quiet lately.

Hope you find great challenges to challenge you!

213642 I had a crappy month of reading too. I started and finished 5 books for the month. FIVE. I haven't read only 5 books in a month in like EVER. SMH. I get that writing's taking up a lot of my time but geeeesh. I need to set more time aside.

And I'm sorry we didn't get out an Oct Fetch. Angie and I talked about it like 2 days after we usually put it up and I said I'd put up a spooky themed one... and promptly never did. I suck! :/ Sorry about that ladies.

213642 Finished both the brown/green & gambler, so we're finally finished with Oogie Boogie.

I'll get us another one this afternoon if my internet holds out, and y'all are up for it. I am, if y'all are, if you don't mind when I go quieter with writing.

213642 Thanks for the love, Angie! :D MUAH!!

213642 To celebrate the release of the 2nd book in my Bijou Basin series, I put the 1st book onto Kindle Unlimited to hopefully find some new readers. If you're interested in themes of polyamory (ethical), LGBTQ, BDSM (SSC), older MCs (40s), FFM, slow burn, small town erotic romance, I hope you'll give it a try.
------------------------------

It’s business as usual for Kenzie in her boudoir studio. Every day, fascinating people of all genders stroll through and Kenzie has the privilege of making them shine. She’s photographed the gamut: sultry brides-to-be seeking a naughty gift for their spouse, the confidant trans person showing the world their true self, and triads locked in passion, each moment of their tender lovemaking on display.

Kenzie’s been a part of it all, but never has a client captivated her so completely, until SHE steps through the door.

Ripley never recuperated from the relationship that irrevocably changed her. Desperate to forget the past, she moves to the progressive town of Bijou Basin, pursuing a fresh start. While acquainting herself with her new life, she notices an advertisement for an erotic nude photographer. On a whim, she books a session, hoping the experience will help her reclaim her identity.

Sparks fly for both women, but Ripley discovers there’s more to Kenzie than meets the eye. Can Ripley accept Kenzie as she is, and does she want to date someone so complicated? Can Kenzie prove she’s worth it?

213642 YAY Carmen. I'm so glad you enjoyed the changes! I'll have an ARC for you soon, hopefully by weekend. :D

213642 I HATE how bad TinEye has gotten with some things but I think it still reigns supreme. I played with about 10 others when I saw this and non give the basic color and all require that you upload the image adding extra time rather than taking it from the url.

I'll make some adjustments to the requirement so it's not as much of a pain.

It used to be that yeah, there'd be Golden in the proper names of stuff that you could use. Cuz it's be like "Golden sunset (yellow)" or "Gold gem (yellow)" or whatever. Now it's only the basic colors so it's a damn pain in the ass. Use your best judgement and with TinEye, you can use combinations of Orange, Yellow and some hues of Brown (like not dirt brown, but if it's got a yellow hue to it, then it'd be fine).

For example - you'd expect Golden in Death (In Death, #50) by J.D. Robb to be a golden cover and it comes out as -
27.9 %#e0b930 Yellow
24.0 %#bd7f2a Brown
16.0 %#e3e3e3 Grey
12.4 %#161016 Black
6.3 %#3f495c Grey
4.4 %#81632b Brown
3.3 %#5b3e33 Brown
2.7 %#c4b897 Grey
1.6 %#94a9c7 Blue

So the top two make the golden part.

I'll decrease all requirements to 50% since it's not as good/easy as it's been. And as mentioned, white has particularly gotten worse, though was never great in the first place.

Does this help any?

213642 My shelf - Fetch Shelf

Hey Carmen - did you get to check out the changes to Natural Exposure yet? I'll have an ARC of Book 2 ready in a week or so - if you're interested. :D (or anytime after that - of course)

This year is going too fast and it's too sucky and geeesh. Life. That's all that really needs to be said. SMH.

Aug 01, 2020 06:16AM

213642 Yeah. I need to do my shelf. I think none of us can believe it's August. How?!
Jul 28, 2020 04:45AM

213642 Yeah, the new TinEye sucks. :/ Definitely won't incorporate it into further covers cuz it's just too hard now. It was fun while it was good - I mean having 80% cover on something took time - rather than just a sliver of whatever and having it count. :/ Didn't realize how few had green/brown.
Jul 27, 2020 05:28PM

213642 I haven't forgotten about our Villain - just been writing more than reading.

But I finally found a book for the Green/Brown task. That one was a bitch of a one.

I can read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid (31.4% Brown / 31% Green) as one of my next books. I have a gambler ones too, so I can take the last two, it just might take me a week or two.

Sorry to be so slow!

213642 Yeah, really right? Ugh. Time sucks cuz it should NOT be August. WTF?!
July 2020 (30 new)
Jul 16, 2020 10:30AM

213642 I finished Hindsight. I near hated it. Lynch annoyed me, Kendra annoyed me. I dunno if I just wasn't in the mood for it, or if I'm just over the books/characters - which I think is the case. Harley and Ariel were great, but I'm giving up on the series, just as I gave up long ago on the Eve Duncan ones. Unlike the In Death series by Robb, Johansen always loses my attention along the way. Shrug. Sorry I didn't like it better, but thanks for the pick Angie! Glad you liked it much more than I did.

213642 Thanks Angie.

Here's my picks for you Plethora:

Legacy of the Clockwork Key (The Secret Order, #1) by Kristin Bailey - on my TBR
Lowcountry Bookshop (Liz Talbot Mystery #7) by Susan M. Boyer - for the 7th of a series
Password to Larkspur Lane (Nancy Drew Mystery Stories, #10) by Carolyn Keene - though I've never liked Nancy as much as I liked Trixie, it's always good for light hearted reading.
