Another good Bout of Books!! I completed my loose goal of 14 books, finishing 15 on the week. Would have been more, if I hadn't been sucked into a game, but Rage 2 is soooooooooo much fun. :) The books were good too and it was a good time of reading. Now, I can game more and get back to writing too.

Started, but did not complete:

I didn't finish a book today, for the first time this read-a-thon. I wanted to play some games instead. I played a little Rage 2 - which is fun but has tons of problems and a little poker on Red Dead Redemption 2. Other than those, I didn't do much else, only reading before I went to sleep, continuing one audiobook and starting a new ebook.
I had an unofficial goal of reading 14 books this week and even with taking the day off, it will be easily doable with 2 days left, probably even hit it on Saturday, so I don't have to worry about reading much on Sunday, when my Hubby will be off.

Harp & Flute will take longer to search for - I will though, if anyone needs it. Getting these quick / easy ones out first. I have a few hundred or more of each, just listed 5 for ease, so I'm fine with giving more, it's fast easy to search one word/phrase. LMK if you want more of any.

Just like Twitter, I hate "emoji" or any kind of chat speak. We do not have cell phones (no, we're not barbaric - we have no need or want of them) and even if we did, I'd never ever use chat speak. Putting in a smilie face is the extent of my emoji / chat speak. So, no challenge for me today.
Yesterday was a lighter day of reading. We've never figured out why, but I don't read when my Hubby is here, even when He's doing His own thing. I didn't read during the day at all yesterday, just some before going to bed in the early morning and before bed last night. Still, got two books read, so can't complain!

Yeah, sorry to hear that, though I understand. I didn't do much reading in April with doing Camp NaNo. This is actually our last Villain, Chernabog was the 11th, so we could wrap up anyways, unless anyone wants to continue.
I hope you will be sticking around BARC though?

Oh wow! New Questions. I already wrote this out with the old questions... I'll add in the new ones. :D
Which hour was most daunting for you?
None. I started to get tired around 2. Since I'd already decided not to do the full 24 hours, I just decided to go to bed. On one hand, it sucked not doing the full 24 hours, it was the first time in 12 Dewey's that I didn't. On the other hand, I really REALLY hated not writing (I'm participating in Camp NaNoWriMo) so I knew I wanted to sleep to be able to write again today.
Tell us ALLLLL the books you read!
See Below
Which books would you recommend to other Read-a-thoners?
In general? Chronicles of St Mary's, Great Zoo of China, The Martian..... from what I read? The Secret Runners of New York
What was your favorite snack?
Oreos, though I didn't have any until about 8 hours in, when my Hubby got home. That's the only snack I had.
What’s a really rad thing we could do during the next Read-a-thon that would make you smile?
Nothing, I just read and don't go to the site much.
What was your favorite facet of the day?
Reading "The Secret Runners of New York". My favorite author - Matthew Reilly, writing my favorite genre - time travel. He did NOT disappoint. So good!
How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? Would you be interested in volunteering to help organize and prep?
I'll definitely read as always.
Wanna volunteer for our next event?
Nah - sorry. I prefer to just read.
Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon Stats
I completed 5 books, started 2 others, continued 1 more
I read 1370 pages
I read 3 books on my Kindle
I listened to 5 books as audiobooks
I read 4 Novels, 4 Novellas
I read for approximately 13 hours (5.5 hours on Kindle, 7.5 hours on Audio)
Current Stats:
Audio listening time/pages: 7 hours 30 minutes / 544 pages
Kindle reading time / pages: 5 hours 30 minutes / 826 pages
Total number of books I've read: 5
Current Book:
Total Pages Read: 1,370 pages
Total Time Read: 13 hours

Started, but did not finished:

Continued, did not finish:

Mid-Event Survey
1. What are you reading right now?
In between books, soon to start a new one. 25% into The Vanishing Season.
2. How many books have you read so far?
Finished 4, started two others - one is a messed up audiobook so that's a DNF for now, the other (Vanishing Season) I hope to finish.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
Not a Hero by Cherise Sinclair
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
I haven't felt it this year like I have other years, I think because I want to write instead. I'm definitely not going to stay up the full 24 hours, like I have the previous 11 Dewey's, because I want to write tomorrow.
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
Nothing changes, so nothing.

It's time for Dewey's! This is my 12th one, so I'm gonna be a little lazy and reuse some of these answers and this opening statement as well. Ha! I keep hoping the questions will change one of these times, and they don't... Ah well.
For the first time, since I started doing Dewey's, I don't plan to go the full 24 hours. I MIGHT, but I'm not counting on it. Why, you ask? I'm glad you asked. It's because, for the first time ever, I'm doing a NaNoWriMo event, specifically I'm doing Camp NaNoWriMo, which is happening now, for the month of April.
I won't go into the long story, if you are interested, you can go see my post from April 2nd where I first posted about it. I'm updating my blog every day with my progress. Here my Camp NaNoWriMo - Day 5 recap I posted today.
Opening Meme:
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Sparta, NC ~ the middle of no where. :)
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
THE SECRET RUNNERS OF NEW YORK!!!! Yes, I'm super excited. My favorite author wrote a book in my favorite genre. I. CAN. NOT. WAIT!!!!
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I don't have any snacks for this year, for the first time ever. There's some Ritz in there, and that's about it. :( Might have my Hubby bring something home, I'm not sure what.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
HI! I'm Karsyn, over 40 (though much much younger in spirit), deeply in love with and married to my high school best friend. I LOVE to read, obviously, and am blessed with a ton of time to read. In a typical month I will read 15-20 books, often more, and when there's something going on, like Dewey's, I read a ton more! Since I started writing, my reading has taken a nose dive. I read over 40 books in January, but only 25 in Feb and Mar. So bad! But I'm loving writing. Beyond my books, I'm a gamer, and I built my own Gaming PC, 3 years ago, which I named Widget (after The Night Circus character). Widget is GREAT and we've had so much fun playing games on him!! Before I caught the writing bug I was playing RDR2, KH3 and HZD on the PS4, and Subnautica, RE2 and Two Point Hospital on the PC.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This is my 12th Dewey's so I'll do what I've been doing, minus the staying up all night. It could happen, but as I write this, I want to get back to my writing, so I don't think I can go two days without it. :)
