Eight Beloved Books from Each of the Past 10 Years

Here at Goodreads World Headquarters, we spend a lot of time sorting books into stacks. It’s fun, if a little hard on the back. The key is to lift with your legs. Anyway, we occasionally stumble upon a particularly interesting sorting technique.
Such is the case with today’s collection, which features a sampling of the most beloved books from the past decade, arranged by publication year. We say “sampling” because it’s not a straight listing of the year’s most popular books. Instead, it’s a representative collection of the books that your fellow readers are currently reading (or perhaps rereading) and recommending.
As such, this collection folds in sleepers and slow-burn hits—titles that didn’t necessarily blow up on initial publication but have since gained traction through BookTok, word of mouth, back-catalog explorations, etc. What they all have in common is that they are clearly beloved by readers.
Station Eleven is a good example. A literary sci-fi novel set in a post-pandemic Midwest, the book was plenty popular when it first came out in 2014. But it has remained popular for a full decade now. The excellent HBO series adaptation is part of the story, surely, but this continuing interest suggests that author Emily St. John Mandel’s novel speaks to readers in an enduring way.
Other books in this stack might include Taylor Jenkins Reid’s historical Hollywood novel The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo or Victoria Schwab’s perennially popular contemporary fantasy The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.
Scroll down to browse the collection by calendar year, and if you want to dig deeper, click on the headline for each section (“Books Published in 2022”) to read the full list. If any individual book catches your eye, click the Want to Read button to add the title to your wish-list shelf.

I've read 13 books on this list. Some were good, others weren't. Can you recommend me a book to read on this list that I haven't read yet?

Seven Days in June
Project Hail Mary
have you read those three?
I have read 38 of these. If memory serves me, there were several I DNF and some I gave low ratings on.
I have Fourth wing, Yellowface, Divine Rivals, Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Lessons in Chemistry, Babel, Project Hail Mary, The Midnight Library and The Silent Patient on my TBR.I've read The Only One Left, None of this is True, The Housemaid and Red Rising. I think Red Rising is amazing. I'm currently reading Dark Age and I'm loving it!
I've read 25 of these. Remarkably Bright Creatures, Homegoing, Eleanor Oliphant, Demon Copperhead, and The Lincoln Highway were some of my favorites.
I read two books from this list which is because I don't like fantasy and most of the books here are based on fantasy.
I’ve read 22 of the books on this list. About the same number are my want to read picks. It’s a good list. Happy Reading!
I've only read 8, but have more on my to read list! My favorites were Eleanor Oliphant and Demon Copperhead. :)
I've read 47 of these. It's a good list. From this list, Hamnet and All the Light We Cannot See are favorites.

I've read 14. Many on my TBR. Best fiction by far was "The Lincoln Highway." Best non-fiction: "Born a Crime."

I've already read A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and The Hunger Games. However, I've seen your other recommendations. Is Better Than the Movies any good?
I’ve read four: Fourth Wing, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Six of Crows, and Red Rising. I’ve rated them three stars except for Fourth Wing, which I rated two. I have eight on my to be read list. I can’t wait to read Demon Copperhead but I have to read David Copperfield first!
I've read 25Some of my favorites were Educated, All the Light we Cannot See,
Daisy and the 6, M Mart, Demon Copperhead,
Everything I Never Told you,
I’ve read 25 of them. Everything I never told You, Demon Copperhead and Elinor Oliphant are a few faves
I've read 33 and have 3 more to read in the near future. Interestingly, I read 9 out of 10 of the ones for 2019; probably Covid had something to do with that.
I have read 46. The books I don’t read are fantasy books although I will read spectacular fantasy. I don’t love non-fiction and have a big problem with memoirs especially written by younger people and rich celebrities. No horror, a few mysteries but nothing too gory. I just love a good decent book. I loved Hello, Beautiful, and Demon Copperhead. I loved both a A little life and a Gentleman in Moscow but actively disliked their follow up books.
I've read 21 and especially enjoyed the two books on this list by Amor Towles which are A Gentleman in Moscow and The Lincoln Highway. Cloud Cuckoo Land is amazing! It was so interesting to see how Doerr wrote 3 separate stories that came together so well at the end.
I've read 27. Have a few still on my To Read list. For anyone who hasn't read it, I HIGHLY recommend The Tattooist of Auschwitz.
