Thursday, 27th June -- I hope everyone enjoyed the Hydrangea mini-newsletter -- I'll post a photo of the Hydrangea in August -- truly, it is amazing. To walk the path, you have to nearly bend sideways to get through.
I rewrote the first chapter yesterday (the one that wasn't right) and now it's much shorter and to the point and hopefully you'll just be left with the punch -- oh my, what's the evil plan?
Today, folks, it's going to be stretching, then your cardio -- if you like, you can do it in parts -- like 15 minutes at a time, then another 15 minutes later -- you gt the drift. It doesn't matter except you don't have the chance to really get your heart rate galloping. I just saw relatives who do not know about Shoulder Blades Back -- Remember, always SBB when you're walking up and down stairs.
I'm going out to water the Hydrangea -- as if it needs it. I think the sucker draws in the Bay air and gets stoned --

Wednesday, 26th June -- One of you wrote they had super major winds in Duck -- two days after I left -- well, that was lucky, but who knows? Maybe suffering through the high high winds would mean all the travel crap wouldn't have happened. More stories -- I love to groan reading them and picturing your faces in my mind --
SBB -- do not forget this, every time you step onto stairs, you immediately SBB -- habit, habit -- don't forget stretching today. I realized how much I'd missed it during that week off -- so it's super important and no, I'm not lying to you.
I read the first chapter in DEADLOCK yesterday and realized it was all wrong -- that's what a week off will do for you -- give you new perspective.
SBB!!!!

Tuesday, 25th June -- slept like the supreme log of logs last night -- even Peyton couldn't get me awake and he really likes to snuggle at night. (well, okay, woke up a bit to love on him) Your travel stories (I haven't read them all yet but they sound pretty solid as far as wanting you to go postal) -- You always live in hope whenever you travel and I suppose that's the only way to do it.
Don't forget, if you go to the Outer Banks (OBX if you're cool), don't forget Tulio's Bakery in Duck. Best deserts you'll ever eat in your entire existence, I swear it on the head of of the gorgeous dolphin I saw sporting with his family in the water just off shore Saturday morning.
Went to the gym yesterday -- that really felt good, all the stretching, getting back into the groove. I do hope you weren't slackers while I was gone. Remember, like everything that needs to be done on a daily basis, it's HABIT -- when it's a habit it gets done, no hemming and hawing around. Right?

Friday, 14th June -- Oh glory -- leaving at 3:45 a.m. tomorrow morning. No, no, I didn't do this, the wretched airline (Delta) cancelled the flight and this was the only other one available to arrive in time to meet everyone in Norfolk. Okay, I'll stop whining, probably sleep on the plane, maybe, if the planets are in correct alignment, if the minions aren't pissed off at me for some unknown reason.
Cool again -- high today of 67. YEA. It's so nice to have the covers to your nose at night, right? All you guys roasting, I feel for you but alas, not enough to come move in next door and commiserate.
End up the week with a bod blow-out. That's right, get on your bike, get on the tread mill, get on your sneakers and RUN or walk with critters, always fun -- but MOVE
I'll get in touch probably on Monday --

Thursday, 13th June -- YEA -- it's back in the 60's today, no more sweltering-- Lots of stuff to do before leaving EARLY Saturday a.m. for the Outer Banks. You all know where the Outer Banks is (or OBX as it's called, if you're cool), right? Okay, off the coast of North Carolina, the barrier islands, a skinny string that take the brunt of hurricanes that happen to come their way. It's where Kitty Hawk is -- The Wright brothers -- and I'm sure you've heard of the Cape Hatteras light house -- they actually moved the sucker some 15 years ago back from the Atlantic -- it's a fabulous place, the only place really in the U.S. if you and your family want to beach it for a week and rent a house or houses -- We're expecting 50 plus people this year, four houses, utter insanity -- will be great.
Sometimes the wifi is great, sometimes it sucks -- we'll see. All of you, if you're able, get outside and walk, run, dance along -- and be sure to belt out lovely songs. When people pass you, they'll either start singing with you or they'll smile really big. Do give it a try --

Wednesday, 12th June -- It finally cooled off today, high supposed to be 75 degrees. Do I believe them? Probably not. the last three days have been in the 90s and everyone is flopped on their backs, trying to suck in breaths. Remember, few houses in Sausalito have air conditioning, no need. This little interlude with the devil was strange and really quite horrible. You living in hot parts of the country -- How do you do it? You simply living in A/C all summer? Well, it is neat to wear shorts, but not all that neat, give me 60 degrees instead. All right, I'll shut up, stop my whining before you throw things at me.
Today the gym won't be an oven and I won't be Gretel -- On Monday I had a wet towel around my neck -- all right, I'll shut up again. Promise.
What do you think of the title: DEADLOCK?
All of you, it's the lovely middle of the week and the perfect day to call upon your muscles to do something positive for yours and their health. Cardio is always the most important, then I've got to say stretching, then the parts of your bod that really are crying out for help -- and don't forget the summer motto: DEATH TO BAT WINGS.

Tuesday, 11th June -- Home and settled back in, cats no longer hate me and run when I come toward them. Isn't that odd how they do that? Do they forget or do they forgive your leaving them?
HOT here, a scorching 97 degrees yesterday, predicted 83 today, so a bit better, then getting cooler each day, back to 70s on Saturday -- It's so weird for this to happen, usually the heat lasts for a week in late September. Aren't we lucky? And there's little AC since there's no need for it.
Warrior's won last night -- BUT Kevin Durant injured his calf again, at least that's the early call -- so now game 6 is back here again on Thursday night--
It's tough in the gym in the heat because there's no AC, only fans and open doors. I have to admit I do not do well in heat, burns me right down to my feet. How about you guys? Heat or do you prefer cold?
If it's hot where you are, I'll bet you get our REALLY early to walk and stretch and do your workout, right? Today, don't forget CARDIO -- then do what is needful for your bod. No, do not kiss me off, MOVE

riday, 7th JUNE (Time does fly but not quite July yet) Glad you like the garden mini-newsletter. It's such fun to come up with ideas on how to make you smile or giggle or maybe even chuckle. And yes, the cover of LABYRINTH -- it's covering another book since I haven't seen my actual copies yet. Actually, they were still doing another "cold read" early last week at the publishers --
Warriors/Raptors tonight -- Here's my prediction: Warriors will win the next 3 games. I really do love the Raptors, I'm so proud of how far they've come, and I would cheer for them against any other team, but obviously I can't since it's against my team. So I hope the Raptors stop shooting all those blasted three and the Warriors get some players back.
Everyone, give it a good physical shot today to kick off the weekend, all right? CARDIO like you really mean it, get those quads working hard, push yourselves. Really, a little pain (well, not really) -- and the results you'll get are phenomenal. Do not laze around. You can't run 5 miles? No matter, I can't either. Who cares? But you can walk, even if it's on the slow side, it doesn't matter -- you're moving, your muscles are moving. DO IT --

Thursday, 6th July -- Well, without Durant and Thompson and Looney, the Warriors indeed lost last night to the Raptors. Looney won't be back and who knows about Durant? Hopefully Thompson will be back for the Friday night game -- all digits crossed -- Curry was amazing, put the team on his back, but wasn't enough plus the Raptors were shooting threes like there's no tomorrow. Our bench wasn't very good, needless to say. Curry did break the play-off history record with over 25 points in the first half, so that was a positive. He played nearly the entire game.
Hopefully today the video for LABYRINTH will be up for you guys to see and marvel at. It is very cool --
Today is a big cardio day and lots of stairs with SBB -- never forget that -- How are your bat wings? Any flab hanging around? If so, arms straight out from your sides and roll back 12 times, slowly, then forward 12 times, slowly. Repeat 3 times. Don't forget your fingers on the sides of your head, bring in your elbows to touch, then stretch back -- do this 12 times, great for your posture --
How about a little June madness today? What do I mean? Well, first of all you leave your house, and then you set out in a completely new direction, walking is preferred. no car -- and you sing. Print out words to your favorite songs, carry them with you and SING LOUD --

Wednesday, 5th June -- Guess what? You have a treat waiting for you: Ethan Jones has a new Max Thorne thriller out -- AGENT RISING. Special launch price -- $2.99 -- you want non-stop action, give it a shot.
I'll be posting the teaser video for LABYRINTH in a couple of days. Like the others, it'll make you rise straight up out of your chair (I hope) and maybe even make you shout, "Oh goodness, I gotta get me some of that!!" And guess what, you can. You can pre-order LABYRINTH every single place in the known universe (Well, I'm not totally sure about Iceland, but maybe, just maybe) I'd really appreciate it if you could collar say 6 friends, enemies, family members (they can be either), work buddies. Lock them in. That'd be great and such kindness would surely give you not only a wonderful sense of well-being but nice firm triceps. (Oh dear, maybe that's not the exact truth, but it sure sounds good.)
Enough self-advertising. Now on to fun stuff: As you know, the working title for the book I'm now writing is Animus, which is, I know, far too snotty sounding plus who really know what it means? What do you think of Fallout? Nexus? Aftermath? Antipathy? (Yes, these are all titles from you guys and yes, I have your names) More title options would be nice.
Today, I, myself, am going to gird my loins (because it's going to be nearly 80 degrees up where the gym is) and maybe even accept a bit of sweat on the brow. Hard, hard cardio, get off those blasted calories and then lots of machines -- I really am a machine girl. What are you going to do to make your bod hum with pleasure? Think about it, THEN DO IT.

Halloween's coming up fast, the day the zombies burst out of the ground and terrify the crap out of us, not to mention eat our candy and eat our brains.
Update on BOMBSHELL, the 17th FBI Thriller: I'm nearly finished with the edit. The cover is very cool, explodes with eye-popping color. BOMBSHELL is set in Maestro, Va., (the setting of the 10th FBI thriller, POINT BLANK) and in Washington.
JEWEL OF THE LION (first thriller in A Brit in the FBI series partnered with J.T. Ellison). JEWEL moves fast and you don't know what's going to happen on the next page, and you're biting your toenails or a zombie's toenails. J.T. is an excellent plotter and that means when we brainstorm no plot gets left behind.
Alas, no kids want candy enough to crawl up our oxygen-deprived steep driveway, and the sad thing is, I still have a big bowl of candy, every year, but no one comes, not even the zombies with brain bags.
Take care, Catherine
