Tuesday, 6th August -- Okay, guys, here's the deal: You are in COMPLETE CHARGE -- what you decide will be the law of the land -- what will you do to stop the gun violence?
What you guys have posted, is, naturally, quite true. There's always a bruhaha when a shooting first happens, everyone's up in arms, and then nothing happens. So, as I said you're now running things -- what do you do?
Today's a work day, naturally. Tuesday's always a magical day for me. You're over the stress of Monday and now it's face the week with a smile and enthusiasm. You don't know what could happen -- and let's think good thoughts, all right? Something exciting, something you've been dreaming about, something you're expecting, whatever. So, big effort today, no matter what you do. And enjoy it.
Cardio your brains out, always a good thing -- brains always come back, you'll see.

Friday, 2nd August -- So far you guys are really enjoying LABYRINTH. Great, wonderful, makes my day. When you've been so close to a book for so long, you lose all perspective on it. Is it good? Does it suck? Is anyone going to throw it across the room? So far, no book throwing. Unless you're lying to me and don't want to hurt my feelings and that means you're very nice.
Yet another Friday. We have relatives coming in tomorrow for a couple of days. There are so many beautiful places to take them around here, but we're thinking Stinson Beach and Bolinas (an old Hippie town. You can still get stoned breathing in the air). Of course there's Napa Valley or south to Monterey and Carmel -- ah, so many choices. But not east -- there lies too much heat. Temperature can be 65 in San Francisco and go to 95 in ten miles -- I bet you can't beat that --
Everyone, polish off the day with a hard stint on the treadmill or the bike, or hey, even outside (but not in really bad heat) Take your partner or your pet or your lover with you if you go outside, lots more fun --

July 17, 2019

Wednesday, 17th July -- I enjoyed all the Jury duty stories -- I heard that in Florida, if you were over 70, you didn't have to do jury duty. So, I wondered, since Florida is like nearly 100% retired folk, who would be on the juries. My friend wrote back: They pick up homeless people. I hope, that was a lame joke. Seriously, about what percentage of the Florida population is over 70?
Today it's absolutely positively gorgeous here in Sausalito, a projected high of 71 degrees, full sun, tough to put the nose to the grindstone.
Which title do you like best: CROSSFIRE, FALLOUT, DEADLOCK? (These are the three being considered at the pub. house. I really want your opinions.)
Today, it's time to lie on your back, put your legs up the wall. Scoot your butt as close to the wall as you can with straight legs. Then, take deep breaths and let yourself sink into the carpet (or whatever) Then, start with your toes and focus on them -- wiggle them around, then your feet, ankles -- RELAX THEM. Keep moving up, concentrate on relaxing every single part of your bod. You will feel so bloody good you'll be whistling a happy tune, I promise -- don't forget, SBB --

July 11, 2019

Thursday, 10th July -- everyone has weighed in on schedules -- sounds like all of you have sound reasons for doing what you do and how you do it and that's what's important.
But the heat you talk about -- just hearing the high temps makes me sweaty and uncomfortable -- One of you thinks it's perfect weather where I live but you're afraid of the earthquakes. Is there any place in the U.S. where there's NOT something? Hurricanes, tornadoes -- whatever? If you find a spot where Mother Nature isn't always on the lookout to do you in, let me know.
Got a plot glitch smoothed out yesterday, but wouldn't you know, the adjustments made it necessary to make more changes in the next one hundred pages. Yeck! But I'm on top of it today -- please, writing minions, drink your chocolate and leave me be.
Today, for me, it's heavy cardio and the usual stretching and abs -- no gym with all those lovely machines I love so much. You guys? Again, if your heat index is simply too high, go swimming or lying on your back in the water and floating -- or, if you're really desperate, fill your bathtub with cold water, climb in, and read a good book -

July 10, 2019

Wednesday, 10th July -- Lots of you are roasting and obviously want to steal my 70 degree weather. All I can say is the weather is why, primarily, I live here. Others here, however, are always freezing. Conclusion? Try to live where you're the most comfortable, the most productive, have the most friends and family. Do you know what my grandmother told me a long time ago? When you're lying in bed at night before going to sleep, plan out the following day in your head. Always, always, have a list of things to do, places to go, people to hug and tell them you love them. In other words, a schedule -- Guess I really learned that well --
Okay, if it's too hot to even lift a finger, then go swimming. Do laps, do exercises in the water -- and don't forget the SPF 50 --

July 9, 2019

uesday, 9th July -- gorgeous Tuesday, high today in Sausalito near 70, which is perfect for me and, I know, it makes a lot of you groan because 70 degrees is wrong in July and the weather minions here are obviously deranged, or drunk.
I like hearing that those of you who are retired are enjoying yourselves and accomplishing lots of good things. One of you wrote she was so busy she doesn't know how she ever had time to work -- Alas, I cannot be like you. I relish a schedule. If someone knows me well, he/she knows what I'm doing at any time during the day -- well, it's not Moscow, so we can all react differently from each other and no one gets sent to Siberia.
Today, it's hard cardio, no messing around, no slacking allowed -- get your butts either outside and WALK or go to the gym and treadmill yourself to a sweat -- it's all good and all accomplishes the same thing -- a healthy fit bod and if you don't want that, then there's something wrong with you.

July 5, 2019

Friday, 5th of July -- After a day I hope was filled with super amounts of fun and BBQ and oysters and potato salad, etc., etc. -- it's now Friday -- which seems strange. I didn't work yesterday and it felt like Saturday all day. Went to the Cantina for Mexican, told the manager (Jackie) on the way out it's like eating Mexican heroin. Nice salty greasy chips -- be still my taste buds (they're singing Hallelujah far too loud). Yeah, yeah, so my pants are a little tight -- this too shall pass.
So, fact is, one more work day before another glorious summer weekend. Yes, the straight and narrow beckons, that's right -- your straight/narrow is always cardio -- and Friday, the day after the 4th of July, is special. You want to really go out with a bang, like the fireworks. So wear something bright and smile really big and walk, run, treadmill, bike -- whatever -- DO IT. And never forget SBB --

July 3, 2019

Wednesday, 3rd July -- I'm tickled you guys liked the July 4th mini-newsletter. It's true, you know, I was looking at my flag and "tea" popped into my head, shoved my characters right out, and danced and shouted to me. Well, sort of.
Now, I didn't say the 4th in Sausalito was great -- what it really, truly is, is funky. You like funky? You're in business.
Work today -- yes, I flushed out the scenes I roared through -- it's wonderful -- it all works. That's always a great feeling. And what happens is completely unexpected. Ah, shiver me timbers.
Yep, as I told you, I'm machine girl -- and will indulge fully today at the gym. Who is using free weights? Who hasn't yet bought free weights? Get them, guys, and I'll tell you really good exercises for your bis and tris.
A lovely long walk or run or combo today, all right? Early, before the July sun roasts you --
Don't forget -- you will never have road rage if you're listening to an audio book --

July 2, 2019

Tuesday, 2nd July -- All your 4th of July plans sound amazing -- not too many parades though -- in Sausalito -- talk about funky, we've got to win the prize. It's very camp. What's great is we're looking right over Richardson Bay (Sausalito) -- and get treated to great fireworks right in the face. Then go to balcony off living room and what Oakland and San Francisco fireworks -- a bit distant but they sure go all out -- I've posted videos of them in past years, you can see how fireworks improve over the years.
I wrote like a demon yesterday, now I go back and "flesh out" what I wrote -- It's completely unexpected -- we'll see if it works, I am hopeful.
I did 40 minutes of cardio yesterday and lots of machines (I'm really a machine girl) then lots of stretching and floor exercises. Always come home feeling like a million dollars. Please tell me you had the very same experience (or nearly) yesterday as well. Today, no machines, but lots of cardio and ab work -- Sound good? Great, DO IT --

June 28, 2019

Friday, 28th June -- Two birthday parties today -- what fun -- one cake is a strawberry cheesecake from the HCF and the other is a princess cake. Who likes princess cake? Who would kill for princess cake?
I'll be getting a copy of LABYRINTH probably manana -- hot off the press -- can't wait to see it. It's always so exciting the first time you hold the book in your hands and open it and fan the pages and hopefully don't see any typos.
MIB this weekend -- finally, unable to go in the OBX (that's Outer Banks unless you're cool) Who's seen it? Is it "camp"? Funny? Please let me know.
Today, I do cardio and daily exercises (well, I do them at night every single night -- about 5 minute routine) won't happen until much much later -- too much fun going on.
But you guys -- it's the end of the week, so put it all out there, sweat, get your ticker pounding and your quads aching -- your body will LOVE you -
