So far, this is a better book than the first two, but I think it wouldn't be if it focused entirely on Cress. Thankfully, Cinder and Scarlet and the boys are there to balance her out. Not a big "Cress" fan.

Some books successfully throw you into a new world with no preparation (ship breaker). Others are off-putting in their world building or lack thereof (maze runner). Red rising is teetering on the fence between right now. I better see some development PDQ of I'm falling over into maze runner turf and that ain't good.

The chapter "and then I got stabbed in the face by a serial killer" should be required reading for anyone who knows and/or loves someone with mental illness. Seriously, extremely accurate. I read that chapter and thought "sounds logical" while others would read it and think "sounds insane."

Crap on a cracker, this book is frickin hilarious. I haven't laughed as hard as I did at Rambo the raccoon in a very long time. I actually needed to wipe tears of laughter off my cheeks. That's telling.

Worst piece of dialogue in the history of books: "I don't talk to liars, you lying liar." Really, Callie? Really? Are you 5? Lmao, because she honestly is trying to be threatening. It would be funny if she was just joking arising with a friend, but no. She's dead serious. Wow.

How can I trust a book that disproves delusions when one of the "true" facts is false? Glass is a solid. I've read many places, many of which cute scientific experiments, that disprove glass as a "really slow liquid." Also, page 122 states that deoxygenated blood is blue, which is false. It's violet (again, several sources refute the half-blue belief).
