This book is kind of terrible. Like it gives advanced examples when explaining basic concepts so I can't imagine a beginner wound actually understand it. And it feels long winded and disorganized.

All this reading about the death of flash was making me nostalgic for home star runner. So I went back and watched their april fools episode and they made a joke about how flash is dead.

As someone who started coding in 1999, I find this book hilarious. It was such a dramafest.

Her hate for the mayor's wife really bothers me. I suppose it's meant to?

This book is on a list of best books for book clubs and to me that just says it's going to be incredibly mediocre. Maybe not, but so far all I have to discuss is how much the nonsensical descriptions bother me, and like...what do these German words mean again? Did I ever know? And also, hey, did you catch that super straight forward foreshadowing?

I'm disappointed because, when I heard that this book was written from the point of view of death, I expected it to be witty.

At first I found the colorful descriptions in this book incredibly hallow and meaningless, but they peter out pretty quickly (for the most part...I'm not sure how eyeballs can be "gangly" though.)

But the story seems to be picking up.

Is it too late to complain about this book being unrealistic?

This story is so ridiculous and heavy handed but also perfect.

Okay, I really want this to be a movie.

Man, this book only has like 16 characters and two of them are transgendered? (Or like...one and a half?)

I'm marking my page not because I have anything to say, but because Nook for PC crashes like three times a day and can suck my nuts.

If you can ignore what a pretentious twat Daniel Gilbert is, he makes some good points. Unfortunately, none of this is news to me because I majored in psych for awhile but I feel like he's going somewhere worthwhile.

I was just thinking about Shackleton and the Endurance when bam, he mentioned them.

I picked this up because "Why Does He Do That?" by Lundy Bancroft mentioned it two or three times as a really good resource.

And maybe it's because I just finished "Why Does He Do That?" this morning but so far I don't feel like this book had really said anything yet.

This book has been saying, "So in conclusion, be a hardass" for like 100 pages. Which is good, but like man, so repetitive.

My only criticism so far is that the author (who is male) is perhaps a little dramatic about how he believes men can't be victims of abuse by women. Uhh, the power dynamic isn't there sure, but women can effectively use some pretty solid mind-fuckery too.

Of course, based on what I've read so far I would still strongly recommend this book. It does a really good job of explaining how abusers think.

This book is 90% bad examples.

Yeah, I've definitely read this before, and like the first time, I don't like it because she presumes to know a lot about the motivations of people she's probably never met.

I think I've read this before, but I picked up a copy at the suggestion of Franklin Veaux.

I was reading about how transactional analysis is helpful in determining who is telling the truth and who is lying in a given situation, and man, this guy is a little weird.

omg, so I found out Elizabeth Strout is from Maine. So I'm like...she's been to these places. Do they just have weird Dunkin Donuts all the way up there or something?
