This is one of those books that's so good, I'm dreading finishing it and having my life be devoid of books like it.

This guy really loves to name drop.

There are times I can't tell if the author is easily distracted from the topic he's trying to cover or I'm bad at paying attention to what he's saying.

Also, I'm still mad about that chapter ("Vice") where he spent literally the entire chapter hinting at what the chapter was about and not actually telling you. Food? Music? Opera? OH. It's art. He's talking about art.

I feel like he spent and entire chapter like, "I had to learn not to care what other people think of my taste in art" while trying to impress me with his taste in art.

I feel dumb because apparently this guy is kind of a big deal and I've never heard of him. But this book has been recommended to me in several contexts, and my local library had a copy so I picked it up.

omg, I have an actual print copy of this book, and there are a bunch of gray squares that were clearly meant to be photos. It's like a website that wont load, except it's an actual book.

Discount for EZ pass drivers? Lol, I don't think so.

omg, I hate it when she refers to someone by some saccharine sweet nickame because it reminds me of every horrible person I've ever met who was trying to create a false sense of intimacy.

Not that I think she's like them I just...ugh. I hate it.

Finally! Our local library had a book I want to read!

omg, she's 45 minutes north of my hometown! It's crazy reading a book where a million landmarks are mentioned and I'm intimately familiar with all of them.

I get way to excited when she mentions Mt. Shasta, or anything else near my hometown.

I didn't know about this book when it was all the rage, and I know you're going to judge me but I learned about it from the Gilmore Girls revival. I was like lol, well I love memoirs and I want to be in on the joke so hey.

It also helps that several of my friends (who's tastes in books I respect) seemed to really enjoy it and left positive reviews.

I was not kidding about my friend handing me a stack of Chelsea Handler books.

She references so many other books that sound interesting that my reading list is getting out of hand. I also find myself constantly putting this book down and looking things up. It's amazing I've mad it this far.

So I was over at my friends house talking about comedian memoirs, and I was like, "I constantly see Chelsea Handler pop up and she's written a million books and I have no idea if she's worth reading." And my friend literally pulls out ALL OF HER BOOKS and is like, "Yeah, I really this one. Do you like her at all?" and I'm like, "I seriously have no idea who she is." and she sent me home with a small stack.

I couldn't give two shits about Star Wars, but you know, I want to hear about what it was like to sleep with Harrison Ford because I am dumb so...

It's strange to listen to an audiobook by someone you know just died knowing they just wrote it.

Right now I'm at the part of the book where her 19 year old self is beating herself up for being into unobtainable men and I'm like, "Ah, I remember those feels."

I saw a video of Tig's infamous "I have cancer" stand up years ago on youtube. It's since been taken down and is seemingly impossible to get a hold of, except in the form of an mp3, but it was by far the most powerful performance I've ever seen.

I actually bought a NEW copy of this book. That's how badly I want to read it.

omg wut, she likes Christmas and Harry Potter? There goes the illusion that we are practically the same person.

I love this book.

It's everything I wanted from the other celebrities memoirs I've read. There's some real "how the sausage is made" insights combined with humor and personality, which some of the others had but this one is exceptionally well written. There are callbacks! She sets up jokes chapters in advance. And there haven't been any parts where I felt like she was floundering and unsure where to take it next.

lol, I feel like I'm reading a book by Mable from Gravity Falls.

omg, this is funny, clever and well written. Also, I have the audiobook and don't have to put it on 1.5 speed to keep from fall asleep because she reads quickly. <3

So this book is super weird and barely makes sense, and I googled it and saw it has a movie and I was like omg, why? It has one star on imdb and 0% on rotten tomatoes. I have so many questions I'm not sure I want answers to.

Every Kurt Vonnegut book I pick up is weirder than the last.

Glowing recommendation: out of all the books I've read lately, this one makes me want to stab myself in the face the least.

This book is great because nothing is my fault.

I hate everyone who talks about computers like they're a problem. Even when they start with "while I love my computer..." Computers are a tool and should be treated as such. What is everyone's deal?
