I got in trouble for reading at work so now I just stare at the wall and wonder what's going to happen next.

Oh man, I love it. First of all, I love how Suzanne is insufferable because she's from Philadelphia, and then I love how she moves to California because she doesn't like the weather in New England. Because it gets dark too soon? First of all, what? Second of all, New England is like two hours from Philly. Sure it snows less, but Philly is an armpit.

"with a hand that looked like the claw of a seagull." hey, seagulls have webbed toes.

"'How about we stop at Dunkin’ Donuts,' she says.

They like to sit in the booth by the window, and there’s a waitress who knows them; she’ll say hi nicely, then leave them alone."

Dunkin' Donuts is basically shitty Starbucks. There are no booths or waitresses. Like...dude.

I'm so conflicted because sometimes her descriptions of feelings or places are perfect, but then sometimes she throws in the weirdest details that make me wonder if she's ever met anyone from a big city or a small town.

This is the most depressing book I've ever read and it's awesome.

I can never remember what page I'm on so I end up reading everything like three times.

Oh my god, I feel like *I'm* trapped on an ice floe. Someone help.

After reading that description I am now in the market for an arctic barquentine sailing ship.

I know I've said this before, but I think this book is ruining my life.

Dude, it's been a whole book since I've heard from these characters and I'm struggling to remember what's going on.

This totally real journal was written in 1915 by a polar explorer from the point of view of his cat.

It's amazing.

I'm always squeamish when advice requires you to conceal your real thoughts and opinions. While I think being kind is incredibly important, I think ultimately, so is honesty.

He just equated non-monogamy to infidelity/cheating and said that the anguish victims of infidelity express is on par with torture victims and people who have lost children.

What in the actual fuck?

I want this book to be better than it is. This guy has some really useful ideas (this is a book all about examining your compatibility), but he sucks at making his points. I'm like bro, go back in time and make me your editor. I could maybe save this.

I'm stuck reading things from the Gutenberg project while I'm bored at work.

I finally caved and bought the kindle version so I can covertly read this in front of my coworkers.
