One of my high school science teachers always used sports analogies and it ruined everything she had to say because I DID NOT CARE.

I'm glad you want to teach sports enthusiasts science but not everyone is capable of giving a shit about sports.

omg dude. Carl Sagan did an insane amount of homework to disprove UFO sightings, like damn.

I was starting to worry this entire book was going to be about UFOs...but he totally turned it into, "And since we're talking about collective delusions, how about religion?" and now I'm amused. But he's talking a lot about philosophy, so gag.

Man, this book is dated. Though, I'd like to believe that people don't talk about this shit anymore because Carl Sagan gave them whatfor.

Yessssss. This book is amazing.

Jacque is my favorite currently living "futurist." (My favorite dead futurist is Jules Verne.)

I love how he says things and you're like, "Okay well, how about this, smart guy?" And he just slaps that shit right down. He's like nope! I thought of that. I thought of EVERYTHING.

Oh my god, I hope this is amazing because I have a total boner for Jacque Fresco.

None of the relationship types described in this book match my relationship with Russ, like, at all. (There are three important aspects, and you can have one, two or all three of them.) I kinda feel like that's a bad sign. I can poke holes in your all-encompassing theory, bro. Of course, my relationship with Russ was pretty weird.

But I think the basic premise of this book is, "find someone you're compatible with, clown."

I'm reading the part where he's explaining the sociology of marriage. You know how I like that shit.

I'm not sure if I'm reading a scrambley kindle version, or if some of these descriptions are incomprehensible.

Alright, easy reads.

I wish this book was better about explaining to people that placing boundaries on their partners choices is controlling and kind of not okay, you know, while also explaining the importance of considering people's feelings before you make choices. They touch on it a few times, but then turn around and act like making crazy demands is okay. Nope! Not okay. Don't do that.

As a relationship anarchist, I keep reading stuff in this book and being like fuuuuuuuuuuuck that. That is some terrible advice. It's not the vast majority, but there are some gems in there.

Well, the introduction was like a sucker punch to the chest, and I think I'm sinking into a crippling depression...so I would say it's pretty good so far.

This book is pretty good. Every once in awhile there's something that rubs me the wrong way, but overall I'm glad I picked it up.

Is it dumb that I expected this to be more about relationships and less about sex?

The authors of this book are a lot hornier than I am.
