Ah, yep. That's what all those angry reviews were about.

I love how they find things out by watching security cameras people don't know are there, and then they go around talking about things out in the open...like wtf? I hate stories where the characters are constantly taking big risks but aren't very cautious. Come on now.

God, when she uses big vocabulary words it's always so awkward. It's like when a sixth grader wants to sound smart so they whip out a thesaurus to change a few words. Like...well technically you can use that word...but there are at least three better words you could have used.

Also, did anyone proof read this thing? Seriously. It feels more like a writing exercise than a book.

I take it back. It is quotable.

So far I'm disappointed with what's outside the city...not because it's terrible...but I was hoping she'd suddenly become an amazing writer and there'd be a mind blowing plot twist. (Honestly, I was hoping for some walking dead/revolution type-shit from back before those shows really started to suck.)

Tris and Tobias have the exact. same. voice.

She's a terrible writer. Like, truly bad. She never says anything in a way that leaves you thinking, "Wow, that was well said."

Her imagery falls flat and sometimes she stretches words beyond their meaning in an attempt to say something in a new way. But instead of being original it just makes it seem like she doesn't know the meaning of basic as fuck words.

God, I forgot the writing was this bad.

She recaps really awkwardly in the beginning, which is painful, but it's great because I can't remember most of what happened in book 2.

And hey, she switches POVs in book 3 like I wanted her to in the last two books! Awesome! Except not awesome because apparently all Tobias can think about is holding hands.

Damn. That was a hell of a revenge story.

Carrie is now in her 20's and VC Andrews forgot to stop writing her like she's an uneducated four year old.

She just said, "How is it for the best when God made him die?" And that's how she talks all the time.

This girl went to an expensive private school as a kid and now she's a secretary and that's still how she talks? This is driving me crazy.

I totally resent that she tolerates Julian's abuse for the sake of her career. She's not doing it to survive, or because she has no one else, or because she's literally trapped...it's not interesting because it's hard to relate to. Tell him to go fuck himself and go back to your family. What. The. Fuck.

Somehow this story took a turn for the ridiculous...which is kind of hard to imagine, I know. If you'd asked me 50 pages ago "What is the dumbest thing you could imagine happening?" I would have told you exactly what ended up happening. I can't imagine how the story can recover from this. The things that kept me interested are gone. And there's 200 pages left.

Oh man. She's been trying to get laid for 100 pages. And she finally does, and she's like omg, yay, and he blows his load in two seconds and falls asleep.

It bothers me that by season three of the show we totally forget about winter and the snow zombies.

These books are so fucked up.

It's almost like if Vladimir Nabokov and Stephen King had a threesome with a bad romance novel...

Man, I've apparently lost all interest in reading respectable books.

But it suddenly occurred to me half way through Flowers in the Attic that like, holy crap, stuff happens after they get out of the freakin' attic.

lol, that was the best plot twist for a relatively low-action book, ever. I can't stop laughing.

I'm starting to feel depressed about how much this reminds me of my job. You know, the dysfunction, and the bullying, and the twisted attempts to justify shitty behavior on the part of leadership. And then there's the whole thing where the people who work the hardest get paid the least, and then when things go wrong they get screwed the hardest. Basically, the circus is small-scale capitalism.

Seriously, I feel like I just made it out of some kind of reading bermuda triangle. Every time I checked what page I was on I swear it said 136.

Jesus, I picked this up because I thought it would be a quick read and it feels like it's 600 pages.

The amazon lending library sucks. This is the only thing I could find. Pro tip: I'm pretending the protagonist is a woman. It's so much better that way. Right now she's drooling over some titties.
