I thought I was going to hate this book...then I was like no, it's actually pretty good...then she started talking about scrabble AT LENGTH.

mmm...okay, I'm getting bored.

I'm not a big fan of nonlinear storytelling, but I am a big fan of journalism stories.

lol, this came in at the library and I IMMEDIATELY regretted ever deciding to read it XD I'm like, "Oh god, I'm tired and I haven't even opened it yet."

I'm on page "xiv" and she's already mentioned her grandkids, her dogs, praying...she's hitting all the right beats. This is all meant to seem humanizing, but it feels super fake.

Also, she compared Harriet Tubman's fight against slavery to this. What. A. Joker.

Again, this book takes place 100 years in the future and it makes pop culture references *I* don't get because I'm too young.

Oh come on, she correctly guessed the safe combo on the first try for someone she spent like two minutes with?

This book points out how silly it is that people anthropomorphize robots ("Silly human, we don't have gender" "Silly human, my brain isn't in my head"), and yet the robots in this book are bad at logic. I guess because they have feelings? I'm an actual person with no computers in me at all and I'm not this bad at thinking shit through.

this book is so full of present day hippie/liberal buzzwords that I can't image will still be a thing in 100 years. it's such obvious virtue signalling.

seriously why, in the year 2144, when the world is full of robots, would people still be unloading boxes from trucks?

Okay, I'm 165 pages into this book and I feel like nothing has happened yet.

This is adult fic but I feel like the driving force here is teenage angst. I think this book was either written for 35 year old virgins, or it's actually intended for teens but is so far above their reading level that it gets labeled adult. (Seriously, the author has a PhD in English and you're definitely going to need a dictionary.)

I think I really wanted to hate this book and feel like the author is trying to hard to be smart and intesting, but I'm like sigh, this is me.

I thought this book might be mildly annoying and it totally is.

I automatically want to smack anyone who says, "dear reader" multiple times.

So much robot angst.
